Purchase this if you own an SM7b microphone. You should not consider purchasing it. Simply go ahead and purchase it. Stop reading this review and go out and purchase it right now. br>br>Click the "Buy" button, for example. br>br>Wait, no, go to checkout after clicking the "Add To Cart" button. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Get it. br>br> Without this, you will never be able to hear your SM7b properly. It raises the signal to such a high level that it becomes a completely pure signal.
Customer service (Cloud support) was extremely helpful and expedient in resolving my issue. It turns out I was having problems (see below) because I was plugging my interface into a male XLR instead of a 1/4 in jack. If you're new to the world of gear, this is the place to start. like me- That is something you must do. br>Now my $60 interface and $20 dynamic mic can pick up audio signals from a safe distance of a few feet (previously, I had to eat the mic to get an audio signal). )br>does exactly what it says on the tin, and it appears to be well-made. br>br>I had an issue that was resolved by helpful Customer Support:br>I recently purchased a cloudlifter CL1 to boost the audio of a cheap dynamic mic (SAMSUNG Q2U). Mic does not appear to send a signal to the cloud lifter. When I increase the gain on my interface, I get an audible hiss, as I would expect from the boost, but no signal from the Mic is detected. I still get low-volume audio from MIC when I plug the mic directly into the interface. I tried another inexpensive dynamic microphone as well as a variety of XLR Male and Female cables. The issue has not been solved. Should I chalk this up to a faulty product or is this a simple problem- Is there a button here that I'm not aware of? It appears to be a ready-to-use product. I really wanted to like this because it appears to be well-made, and if it did what I needed, I'd be overjoyed- but alas. It's currently a dud, and I may have to return it.
Consider the following scenario. They'd get rear-ended if this thing was in the trunk of a Miata. The Miata was smashed into the back of another semi by a semi traveling at 55 miles per hour. This sucker would be the only thing that could possibly survive. br>I'm fairly confident that this thing can stop a. Continue to rock with a 22mm or 9mm. br>br>Having said that. With my SM7-II, I've been using a preamp. B is sucking in static, unfortunately. For whatever reason, I've been putting off getting this. However, I was successful in obtaining it. And I haven't been disappointed.
The results, particularly on the SM5, were fantastic. The 25 dB gain really brought these mics to life, making them an excellent addition to any microphone collection. THIS DEVICE SHOULD BE PURCHASED!.
So I went through all of the YouTube videos and decided that I needed this. The noise floor and artifacts in recordings are a problem for me. I've tried everything I can to get rid of it. My drivers and xlr cables have been updated, but the problem still exists. My audio technica AT2035 is one of the best I've ever owned. The cloudlifter is incompatible with this microphone. I have a vintage Sure 565SD mic, and the cloudlifter works well and improves the sound of this mic. My behringer um2 audio interface is most likely the source of the problem. I'm going to add this to my mountain of gear, and I'll be on the lookout for a better user interface.
I use this with an Electro Voice RE20 and have had great results. br>I like this activator so much that I used it with a Sennheiser 416 as well. It's well worth the money for this small box. br>In fact, I turn down the recording volume significantly. br>All of my audio is crystal clear. br>br>For anyone who uses a dynamic cardioid microphone, this is a must-have. This is a fantastic activator, and I highly recommend it.
I use an Audient ID44 and a Shure SM7b microphone. I had to set the preamp knob to about 5 oclock to get enough gain without Cloudlifter, and at this extreme gain you can hear some hiss noise. I bought the Cloudlifter in the hopes of getting the same sound and getting rid of the hiss noise. My assumptions were incorrect. I get the same noisy sound using cloudlifter, but this time with the preamp set to 2 instead of 5. In addition, it alters the sound's color. It eliminates the SM7b's crisp, high-pitched frequencies that I enjoy. I was also getting some mid-level work from time to time. In my limited time with the device, I've noticed a frequency siren-like noise, which will likely aid my old m-phone. A lot of the time, I use the audio fast track. However, at this price, it is not worthwhile. The cable that came with it, on the other hand, was quite nice.
