Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with the retina display on the new 13-inch MacBook Pro? (In the month of January of this year)?

This is new to me, and it works with both the Early 2015 and the Late 2015 models.

Is it possible to save runnable programs like Word and Excel in the memory provided by the card, rather than just photos and document files?

Some runnable programs can be saved; I haven't tried it with Microsoft Office, but it should work. The only issue is that if your computer goes to sleep or if you log off and leave the program open, it will temporarily disconnect the jet drive; when you log back in or "wake up" your computer, it will give an error and say the drive is not found; if you don't save, you may lose some files.

Is it possible for Time Machine to back up this disk as well? (backups on an external hard drive)?

Yes, it will happen. In Time Machine's preferences, you can choose whether or not to backup this disk.

Will the JetDrive Lite 330 be compatible with the MacBook Air 2014?

No, it's only compatible with the 13-inch MacBook Pro. However, you must purchase JetDrive Lite 130 (not 330) for MacBook Air. They're making a variety of JetDrives that will fit perfectly in your MacBook. I'm currently answering this question by consulting the compatibility matrix included in my JetDrive's box. I'd like to email you a photo of this matrix, but I'm not sure how.

Except for the issue with waking up from sleep detection, it was a good drive
4/5

[THE QUESTION HAS BEEN RETURNED]. On a 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina, this drive was purchased specifically for daily Time Machine backups to run in the background. However, due to a problem that has been mentioned in several Amazon reviews, the drive had to be returned. a problem with waking up from a deep sleep. It protrudes slightly, but only far enough to allow fingernail access. br>*Fits snugly in the slot, but not so tightly that removal is difficult. br>*Adequate for T/M, despite the fact that I never benchmarked the throughput. Others have mentioned it in various reviews, so keep an eye out for those if you're interested. br>*As a reasonably fast 128GB microSD card, this drive is an outright bargain, especially since the SDXC slot caddy is built-in. dislikes: br>br>dislikes: br>br>dislikes: br>br>d *Transcend Jet Tools is a trademark of Transcend Jet Tools, Inc. It can be manually mounted, but that defeats the whole point of the "add it and forget it" concept. Please keep in mind that I formatted the JetDrive with a Journaled and Encrypted Mac partition, but this should have no bearing on the wakeup detection. This is not the case with other SD cards in the same slot. br>br>I really wanted this drive to work for its intended purpose (T/M backups), and even if I just needed more storage, I'd probably keep it. Now is the time to experiment with some of the other MiniDrive options.

It's compatible with the new 14-inch M1 Macbook Pro
5/5

This is a perfect fit for the 14-inch Macbook Pro; however, I'm not sure if it will fit the 16-inch M1 Pro.

It's a practical solution, but pay attention to how you use it and what format you use it in! For an out-of-the-ordinary experience, out-of-sight This is a very practical solution for expanding your mind on your MacBook Pro Retina
4/5

I've had the 128GB card for over a year and it's been great. I used it to store my photo collection as well as documents. It has been reliable, and the performance has been adequate for the items for which I have no complaints. However, I recently upgraded to the 256GB version of this card, and while copying data from the 128GB cards to the 256GB cards, I noticed something odd. The data from the 128GB card was first copied to my internal SSD hard drive, which took up 29. 9% of the space on that SSD. According to Get Info, the maximum storage capacity is 64GB. The same data took up 38 GB on the 128GB card. Get Info estimates that the file size is 35GB. That is about a penalty of 30 percentage percentage percentage percentage When I copied the data to the 256GB card, it took up 47 percent of the space. According to Get Info, the size of the file is 91GB. That is a data use penalty of 60 percentage percentage percentage percentage percentage percentage percentage I finally reformatted both cards to the HFS format (aka MacOS Extended Journaled) and tried copying the data again after some fiddling with them. The data took up almost exactly the same amount of space this time. (By a few KBs, they were incorrect. ) ) I'm not sure why the ExFat format had such a big impact on the storage capacity of the card, but it did. I also noticed that after the format, copying the data to the cards was a lot faster. It took less than 10 minutes to complete what previously took 30 minutes to an hour. As a result, I strongly advise you to convert these cards to HFS first.

Everything goes as planned and without a hitch

You MUST use the guide to get the correct size; I've been using mine nonstop for years. pause in my MacBook Pro (13-inch Retina Display) For the past two and a half months, I've been using inch, Early 2015) I never have to worry about it being bumped and ruined because it fits flush against the side. There have been times when it appears to have 'ejected unexpectedly,' but this hasn't happened very often, and it could simply be the Mac. I haven't had to take it out and reinsert it (or remount it in Disk Utilities) because it always appears. It's a little tricky to eject, but there are little flanges you can dig your fingernails into to start working it out. However, this was the original plan - You don't want it to come out without putting forth some effort! br>br>If you don't use the Choosing the Right Expansion Card guide pictured in their description, you might end up with one that's too short for your model Mac and won't mount or connect with the connectors; or it could be too big and hang out, which is fine if it doesn't get bumped or ejects unexpectedly. br>br>Go to the black arrow in the upper left corner and select About This Mac to find out what model of Mac you have. It'll be the line directly beneath your Version number, with the size and year in parenthesis. All of this data is crucial for determining which Transcend to purchase. br>br>I use mine for my Photos library, and I back it up separately from the rest of my Mac because my backup drive can't handle both the computer and the card.

There are so many factors! Please note the following disclaimer: Although I am not a Mac user, I purchased this laptop to use on my Windows laptop

READING at 80MBps and WRITING at 35MBps The intended laptop, which I knew was USB 2, required a write speed of 40 megabytes per second. Only about 33MBps READ and 20MBps WRITE are achieved when the 0 bus is connected/capable (as expected with USB 2. With overhead factored in, the speed spec is 0). br>br>Of course, I tested it on multiple systems, with various configurations, and that information is not included in the above review because I knew there were limitations elsewhere. What I can say is that Transcend has removed the speeds from the retail box in response to negative reviews, but has left the picture with the speeds up, possibly due to a misunderstanding of how speeds work. I wasn't able to get the total rated speed listed on the box image, but I came close, which is standard practice with these days' media cards.
