I haven't run any comprehensive performance tests yet, but the drive was recognized and I was able to install Windows. On the fresh install, I downloaded a bunch of games and applications, and they all work perfectly. This was on an older ASUS X370-based computer. ASUS Crosshair Hero VI motherboard with Ryzen 1800X CPU.
I was introduced to the pleasures of U. 2 drives with my older X99 boards, which had a plethora of ports before it became clear that consumer PCs would forego that port (along with the nearly useless SATA Express ports) in favor of M. 2 slots. The advantages were high-quality enterprise-grade drives (the format did catch on in data centers) that fit into the 2. In your case, you had 5" bays, but NVMe speeds were achieved- All of this comes at a potentially low cost; both new and used drives can be found for very little money. Used drives may be nearing their write limits, but they can be a bargain for a gamer who only writes once and then updates files as needed via updates/patches. You, on the other hand, Although two hard drives may be a good investment, modern motherboards lack the necessary ports. They have a lot of PCIe slots, and this converts one of them into a U. 2 ports (as well as a location to store the hard drive). Toss a one. You're good to go with a 4TB drive in one. br>br>It's all plug and play, though you might have trouble booting from the drive (there are some variables that might allow it). It's a great place for a Steam library in my opinion.
2 adapter (for more information, see below). It is highly recommended. Avoid looking at the DMLIANKE U at all costs. 2 (SFF- Product images for PCIe Adapter (8639). br>br>Didn't you say you did? First and foremost, I don't believe a neoprene cushion between the U. S. and the U. K. is necessary. 2 drives, as well as the PCB It made me a little wary of tightening the mount screws because the PCB flexed a little. On the other hand, there's not much on the PCB to begin with. It's mostly just sending four PCIe lanes straight up to the connector, after all. How difficult can it be? br>br>The current price of the DMLIANKE (with coupon) is $36, which appears to be in line with the price of similar cards. My Seagate Nytro (shown) accepts the card without any problems. There are no issues. It is highly recommended.
