Hola ! I was able to get it to work in the latest version of Classic (160GB) without any issues. Salute! It is necessary to properly subject the memory, which has a tendency to depart from its place.

When the iPod video with 80GB of storage was released, I was able to store an entire library of 160-plus songs on it. It has music in 256kbps, podcasts, and music videos. Since then, I've switched to lossless compression for my music, and I'd have to pick and choose which songs to bring with me. I can bring more of my library with me now that I've replaced the spinning hard drive with this adapter and paired it with a 256GB SD card. Not my entire collection, but a significant portion of it. br>br>Could have used a larger card or a multi-card set. I have a card adapter, but I prefer the iPod software and am not interested in playing with Rockblox (sp?). ) again. br>br>The iPod is now much lighter, and there is no longer any noise from the hard drive spinning up and seeking the next track, so it took some getting used to. I haven't noticed any significant improvements in wake or search times, but that could be due to the larger library; I haven't measured battery life because it's usually connected to a car radio. br>br>I believe this was an interesting project to work on. I was able to complete it without difficulty after watching a few videos online; I would have completed it sooner if I had known. PS- If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innovative" and "paraphrase It's odd to see and use a full-fledged computer. Remember when SD cards were the teeny-tiny flash memory devices?.
This device is effective. Once you've got your iPod open, installation is simple, and sync speed is as quick as a USB2. 0 device. br>I bought a SanDisk Ultra 400GB microSD card, formatted it as MSDOS(FAT) on my Mac, inserted it into this, and used iTunes to restore the iPod. Now the total space on my iPod (latest gen 160GB THIN) is 366GB.
The most difficult part is opening the iPod, but you can practice by watching a few YouTube videos first. The installation of the card itself was simple. After that, I had no choice but to use a pre-made template. I used a Mojave Mac to install the iPod operating system (not sure how windows itunes would handle it) and then dumped 5,000 Apple lossless songs onto the card; I'd read that the iPod couldn't handle that many songs and that the replacement OS RockBox might be needed, but mine worked fine as pure Apple.
The adapter's tool kit came in handy for removing the back. After I finished installing the adapter, I used iTunes to reset the iPod, and voila! I had no trouble syncing my library. This is a simple install if you don't include the time it takes to remove the back. In a nutshell, it's a plug-and-play situation. In addition, there are no instructions included in this kit. This assumes that the users have a certain level of knowledge and skill. With the adapter in place of the original HDD, my iPod is noticeably lighter - That's great.
The upgrade was well worth it; songs load instantly, and I can switch between playlists in my car without missing a beat. I used to wish Apple would keep making the iPod classic, but it's no longer necessary with this upgrade!.
This was the second time I'd upgraded the storage on my iPod. TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL DR - If you want to get rid of your iPod's default ceramic drive, this SD card reader, along with a fast SD card, will do the trick. The most difficult part is getting your iPod to open so you can upgrade it.
- br>br>I had added a CF card reader to an iPod Photo unit, which worked - However, if you want to use Rockbox on your iPod, it doesn't work with CF card installations for some reason and crashes. This CD card adapter with SD card, on the other hand, works great with Rockbox. I used a 6th generation iPod Classic to install it - Quite simple – The most difficult part is carefully prying the iPod open. br>br>Strongly advised for giving an old iPod a new lease on life.
This is a great way to upgrade your iPod classic to pure digital sound using an SD card; it was simple to install in the iPod, and it will actually triple your battery life because the HD does not have to spin. The only downside is that it's a little pricey; based on other items for a similar process, this should cost no more than $20.
Turn your iPod into a monster with 256GB of storage! It's fantastic! There are some excellent videos available that demonstrate how to set up these hard drive replacements. In my very old 30GB 5th generation iPod, whose disk failed years ago, I bought and installed both an SDXC adapter and a new battery. The iPod works perfectly with a 256GB micro SD card! It also has a longer battery life and is well-made to match the iPod's interior. My music collection is 185 GB in size, which is too large for a 160 GB iPod. This upgrade was able to get around this limitation. br>CAUTION: THIS IS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ADVISORY: Because 6th generation iPods have a 128GB hard drive limit, purchasing this upgrade for a 6th generation iPod does not make sense if you want to go beyond 128GB: The iPod will not use more than 128GB of your memory card; however, the 5th and 7th generation iPods are not limited in this way.
