Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use all six speakers at the same time?

Maybe. The lower the effective impedance of the speakers, as measured by the amplifier, the more you connect. And the lower the effective impedance, the higher the current required by the amplifier to drive the speakers to a desired listening level without distortion. br>Most speakers, especially the less expensive ones, have an impedance of 8 ohms nominally. As a result, if you're driving one set of these speakers, the amplifier will see an 8-ohm load. However, if your amplifier is driving two sets of these speakers, it will encounter a load of 1/(1/8 1/8) = 4 ohms. If you have three sets of these speakers, your amplifier will see a 1/(1/8 1/8 1/8) = 2 signal. With 6 speakers and a 7 ohm load, for example, your amplifier will see a 1. a load of 3 ohms And this is a nominal and, in most cases, maximum load. In practice, the load varies with frequency and is effectively lower for short periods of time.br>Some amplifiers, but not all, are designed to drive such low loads. If you try to do this for an extended period of time with such a low current amplifier, it will burn out. That's why some speaker selectors, like this one, have a protection button that adds a resistance in series with the speakers to raise the impedance seen by the amplifier. This reduces overall efficiency, and you'll notice that you'll need to turn up the volume to get the same amount of sound as when the protection button is turned off. So, if your amplifier has enough current to drive those 6 speakers to your desired listening levels, that's fantastic. If it doesn't, and the listening level is too low for your tastes even with the protection button turned on, you'll have to either reduce the volume or invest in a more powerful amplifier.

What Is The Best Way To Connect A PSS6 Speaker Selector To A Pyle PCAU46A?

Yes, I occasionally use an older Technics amp 2x100 with six pairs of speakers. Just keep in mind that if you're running 6 pairs of speakers, you're putting this amp to a lot of work, so keep an eye on the amp's temperature.

Several questions: How do you connect it to your stereo system? I am hard of hearing, so I connected three speakers to my stereo system. This is connected to my television, and when I turn it up, it sometimes turns off by itself. I don't understand why. I would like more speakers. what about the receiver...?

My home is equipped with speakers. Pyle's Six - I can play music in almost every room thanks to my zone box. Connect each of your speakers to the Pyle, then connect the Pyle to your receiver, speaker A or B. B is where I'm at. Connect the audio from your receiver to the audio on your television. On the Pyle, there is a separate button (button in) that should always be on. I'll make it as simple as I can for you. This box meets my needs perfectly and has never failed me. Wishing you luck!

I'm putting in a new system. Multiple rooms have speakers built into the walls. What I'd like to know is what the best and cheapest in-home childcare option is. Is there a wall volume controller that could be used in conjunction with this speaker selector?

As long as you're using 8-ohm speakers, the volume control shouldn't be too important. So long as the quality is satisfactory to you. Radio Shack was where I purchased mine. I've seen some at Home Depot as well. Amazon, I believe, also sells some.

Okay, it was put to the test and it passed
4/5

The majority of the feedback was positive. Some even predicted the item's return in any situation or circumstance. Despite the negative feedback, I ordered and received it because, thanks to my engineering background, I am capable of correcting minor flaws. I had been endangering my amplifier(s) by ignoring the recommended ohm requirements, which was fueled by my desire to have multiple speakers in one location. Despite the fact that my Integra receiver is internally fused/protected, I needed a proper zone selector with ohm balancing because of its high price. This product did exactly that, and it did so without sacrificing sound quality. Let me give you a list of what I'm powering in terms of "test": (2) dual 15" cabs, each with 6 radial tweeters, (2) 12" 3-way cabs 2-way cabs, (2) 12" 5-way cabs (2) Yamaha 8" 3-way cabs, (2) Yamaha 8" 3-way cabs, (2) Yamaha 8" 3-way two 18" woofers in ceiling mount dedicated cabs, and two way bookshelf cabs The signal is being distributed evenly by this selector. The only issue I had was one that a lot of other people had as well. The input terminals are flimsy and will open with just a little force on the wire; however, this can be easily remedied by using self-closing terminals. After all of the wires have been inserted, annealing tape is wrapped several times around each terminal block set.

It does what it says
4/5

I have three sets of speakers connected to this device, two in the living room and one in the dining room, and it would be great if I could add onboard volume control, but that would almost certainly triple the price. Unless I'm cooking, working, or eating at the dining room table, I usually turn off the lights in the dining room. Despite the fact that this is rated for 14 gauge, I'm using 16 gauge wire, which I believe is the maximum. Each set of speakers is on its own circuit, which is why I went with the 6-input device, which has a separate on/off switch for each of the two sets of inputs. My purchase has satisfied me.

It really works
5/5

Our house had built-in speakers in four different areas, each with its own volume control. The previous owners had a powered splitter that took one powered stereo output and multiplied it by four while keeping the required impedance. We didn't have much luck with this device, and we couldn't find a replacement from the manufacturer. Our surround sound amplifier has more zones, but it can't handle the low impedance of paralleling the channels because of the low impedance. With this device, we can send the single powered stereo output from our extra zone, split it into our four (up to six) channels, and keep the required impedance for the amp to work properly. The device is easy to set up and use.

All of the zones are still operational
5/5

This is a very simple unit to operate, and it has served me well in my home, which was already sound-proofed. I have the standard five speakers and a sub in my family room, as well as speaker sets in the dining room, study, master bedroom and bath, and a pair in the basement. The switches make it simple to remove some rooms while leaving others in place, and the amount of power available to each room now appears to be constant. I haven't had a party yet to put it through its paces, but so far it has performed admirably.

Both the product and the company are excellent
5/5

I've been looking for a speaker switch to use in my shop and haven't found one yet. There are four sets of speakers in total, including one on the outside. I wanted something that was extremely dependable without requiring me to go through a lengthy trial and error process. I ordered it after learning more about Pyle and their products, and it's fantastic. Easy to set up, barely audible sound loss, and no interference, even when the machines are running. I'm very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone!.

Idiot- a complicated wiring scheme was proofed By allowing six speaker pairs, each wired in series, to present a required 8 ohm combined load to an equally vintage two channel amp without creating a jungle of wires, an impedance issue with a vintage 8 x 4 ohm Hammond speaker cab and a second 4 x 4 ohm cab was easily solved
5/5

An otherwise finicky amp was saved by a simple and inexpensive fix that solved an overheating problem. Impedance protection performed as expected, making a complicated wiring scheme relatively foolproof, more organized, and less mentally demanding. Don't tell Pyle, but this was not the intended application. There's nothing special going on here; it's just a small plastic box with a few speaker posts. But it served its purpose.

This will be returned to you
3/5

Speaker wire clips were insufficiently strong to keep them in place. When I first connected the speakers, they worked for about ten seconds before faded out. I jiggled the wire a little more and they came back on for a few seconds before doing the same thing again. Simply put, this isn't a good switch. At this price, I wasn't expecting much, but if this is "new and improved," I can only imagine how bad the old switch was. Don't waste your time with it.

Installing the device is simple

SONOS AMP can be used to connect multiple speakers. Today I took the unit out of the box so that Best Buy Geek Squad could install it. They said the unit was defective and that I should get a new one. I'm waiting for an RMA from Amazon to cover the cost of return shipping and receive a refund!.
