So I was looking at different knobs and wanted ones with metal construction. I wanted an older plastic volume knob from the same company because I liked it a lot (I like dark settings sometimes, and especially blue LEDs are very distracting), but I had an older black LED that I liked too. Seeing that the screws were visible, I thought I could cover the LED or remove it fairly simply. Now, I plug in, and, low and behold, the knob shows up, and I am amazed that the light turns on only when I change the volume, with a smooth fade out afterward. It is not even necessary for me to make any modifications. It now actually makes sense to leave it unlit since it is largely unused. A lot of work has gone into the construction. When you change the volume, you can feel the notches in the knob. Thankfully, there was no sound of a click. You should feel something instead of just looking at it. Because it turns on when you turn the knob, it confirms that you should be able to use it when the light is on. This application is instantaneous in Windows 10. Honestly, I was shocked by the results. That's how plug and play works. My only complaint is that the cable that comes with the product has really really tacky branding on an otherwise rather beautiful product. Its price is lower than some of the other similar products out there, so I was a bit skeptical. As we work backwards from the USB end to the knob, let's start with the USB end. There is a USB 3 cable included with the USB cable. A Micro USB connector is on the other end of the cable, which plugs into the device. It looks like it has a nylon braided cable, it's not plastic so it glides over the desk with ease. Unlike plastic knobs, the knob base is made of metal. I enjoy the feel of the matte black finish in the hands. A knob can be found above there. I only had one issue with this unit, which was the alignment of the knob with the base of the unit, so I can feel it wobbling a bit when turning it. backlight is a great addition, as it shines down on the base in a cool blue color. I believe you can turn it off by holding the knob down for a few seconds. If the light is on, you can turn the knob and it will get brighter and then fade back and get darker as the light is turned off. It is great as it doesn't bounce back and forth between bright and dark. You won't have to worry about it losing your grip or sliding away because of the base's sticky pads. I like how you incorporated it. The product is something that I would buy again in the future without a doubt.
