I examined the manufacturer's driver support for the innards in question. The fact that Windows 10 is still in its early stages of deployment could be a problem. As a result, things may change.br>At this time, Windows 10 should work with this device, but Windows XP, 7, and 8 may not. This is the cable you need if you want to connect your radio to an RS232 port. I don't own a radio, but I do use it to program an Eventide HA7600 Harmonizer in audio production, and it works flawlessly. Just remember to use the shortest cable available if one is available. However, about a year ago, we began receiving complaints from clients who claimed that their hardware was malfunctioning. After doing some research, we discovered that the Prolific chip sets have been reported to be incompatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. Several people claimed that switching to FTDI chip sets solved their issues. br>br>We found the Tera Grand USB to serial adapters with the FTDI chip sets on Amazon and decided to order some for in-house testing. We tested the adapters with a variety of hardware and had no problems, so we ordered about 50 more and sent them to clients who were having problems with the Prolific chip sets. Our clients' hardware problems were resolved thanks to the Tera Grand adapters. These are excellent adapters, and I would strongly recommend them, particularly if you're having problems with Prolific chip sets in your adapters.
I was tempted to give it three stars, but that would be unfair. That has a lot to do with my dissatisfaction with the physical format of things - I didn't pay attention to this, as you can see from the photo. br>br>1) It's small; 3 feet isn't enough for most uses; be aware of this. br>2) It's a pain to use. Male screws are not used on the DB9 end. They also can't be taken off. Yes, exactly as shown in the illustration. But that means I can't connect it to any serial port on any of my gear; why would you do that? To use this, I had to purchase a serial extension cable with male connectors on both ends. br>br>On the plus side, it didn't require any installation under Windows 10 and appears to work flawlessly. I didn't need the small driver CD_ROM that came with it. br>br>Electrically, this is excellent; however, keep in mind the physical limitations - just as I did.

Although I had a CD with drivers, Windows 10 installed them for me before I could even load the CD. The RS-232 protocol allows for quick communication. My laptop has Windows 10 installed, and the USB port is not working. My company's serial number was ineffective. The virtual comm port on my laptop is simply not detectable. br>br>Enter the era Grand Premium USB 2. Serial cable from 0 to RS232.
