Longer than 9 feet. This isn't a crossover cable, so don't expect it to work. It's a female plug on each end of a serial cable. Straight through wiring. This isn't a printer cable, so don't get your hopes up. br>br>I use the cable to connect my computer to my Yaesu FT950D ham radio so that I can use Ham Radio Deluxe software to control it. It performs admirably. It's a great value for money. This is a cable that I wholeheartedly recommend. K4AGO br>John br>.
I bought ten of these with the intention of chopping them in half and using them in a custom cable assembly. br>All pins must be removed. The outs had the same colors as the ins. br>Wires are a little thinner than I expected (24 AWG)? However, with a little caution, they were fine. The exposed wires were tinned. br>On both ends of the DB- The shield foil and 9 cases were electrically connected.
This cable was exactly what I needed to connect a ham radio to an rs-232 port on my computer. It's a straight through 232 port (all 9 pins are connected in a straight line). ) The cable arrived on time and in good condition.
It does exactly what it says. This is a straight through cable, which means it goes all the way to the other end. On one end, contact 1 connects with contact 1 on the other. This is true for each contact, so this cable cannot be used as a communications cable with four crisscrossed contacts.
We are required to give a pruct if we receive a positive response. It's just a working cable, and I got it.
The inner conductors are paper thin, but since most users will not be crimping pins onto the wires, they should suffice for most applications.
blah. I used this to configure a switch via a Raspberry Pi and it worked perfectly.
This cable is compatible with the Yaesu Rig Cat System as well as HRD software.
