It is no longer included in Windows 10, as it was previously. Rooful made no mention of needing to get another program to make this thing work. I followed all of their instructions to the letter, but it still did not work! I showed it to my computer technician, who confirmed that the player is functional. The issue isn't with that. I went back to Rooful and their suggestions were a little beyond my technical ability to understand, so I went back to my computer guy (wasting time and money) and he said I could try their suggestions all day and it would still not work. He stated that the player must be able to connect to a program. (cha- ching) or it won't work at all. He assisted me in locating a free one on the internet, and voila! I brought my computer home, installed the software, and it worked perfectly. Rooful's most recent message advised us to use the same program we had already set up. The player is operational! The image and sound are both stunning. There will be no issues. But it took me two weeks to figure out how to make this thing work! They should have made it clear to the public that this is not a "plug and play" item. For it to work, you must first download or install the program. They should make that clear in their marketing. Although they request donations, the program I downloaded was free. I would recommend this product, but only because of the difficulty I had getting it to work. Aside from that, I'd give it a 5 for the machine.
My previous drives were "BIG" brand name drives that were a LOT more expensive than this one. br>br>Since it arrived, I've tried just about every type of disc you can put in one of these, and they've all worked fine; they all burn smoothly and quickly, and they all play back the same way. With this machine, I've done audio, video, programs, and numerous backups, using both high-end name-brand discs and low-cost generic discs. ones that are significantly less expensive and, in my opinion, are superior discs. It didn't matter if it was R, RW, or DVR; it was all the same. or whatever, they all worked perfectly in this RooFull external drive, which is small, quiet, fast, and durable. It'll last a long time. br>br>Then there's the protective case that comes with it. It is the reason I bought this drive; I had already decided to get a RooFull based on reviews about how well they work and how long they last, but the case caught my eye and said to me, "If you're going to get one, get a good one and get a case to protect it. " I knew I had made the right decision as soon as the drive and case arrived. This isn't a flimsy, wimpy case. This one is a thorn in my side. With the case, I'm confident that this drive will last me for the rest of my life. Hopefully, it will deter the gremlins that have taken up residence on my other drives; )br>br>Thoughts for the end: I wish I had cases like this on all of my gear because it is very quiet, very fast, and the CASE is a no-brainer (I wish I had thought of that). Buy a Roofull with the case if you want to be smart! Whoever thought of pairing this fantastic drive with such a tough case demonstrates that there is still some common sense left in the world.
I'm so glad I did because I came across this little gem. It was only a few dollars more than my previous purchase, but it includes a few additional features. I bought it primarily because of the excellent carrying case that came with it. It has a lot of padding for protection. I have a MacBook Pro and must use an adapter to charge it. The case has a separate zipper compartment that is ideal for transporting the adapter as well as any other cords or small items. The drive's cord is integrated into the drive's bottom, so there are no loose hanging cords to deal with when you're finished. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased a second one for my home iMac. You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase.
This item is not available in a ready-to-use state. use in the United States of America's market - Instead, it's aimed at the European market. You can change the properties up to five times before the product becomes unusable and you end up with a pricey paperweight. BUYER BEWARE and continue your search! I wish I'd known: (I've never been able to make this work, and it's too late to send it back now. ).
The customer service website is ineffective. There are no rules. It didn't work out. Returned. The player was not able to perform outside of the box. I finally got my computer to recognize it after jumping through hoops, but it would only let me open files in Explorer and look at them. None of them were ever played by it. I experimented with five different players. It isn't intended for the United States of America. The concept of "instructions" is a farce. A small folded piece of paper instructing you to visit their website and search for solutions. There are no FAQs on the site, but you can send an email to their support team and choose from a list of problems. That should be enough to persuade you to take action. They are aware of the problems that these poor players have, but they do nothing to address them. And, if they're aware of the problems, why not create some FAQs so your customers don't have to wait for a response from the support team? br>br>I packed it up for a return after 3 hours of frustration. Choose a brand name to save yourself some time and frustration. That is exactly what I intend to do.
