I bought it a few weeks ago. I expected it to break down soon after I bought it based on some of the reviews. Then I dropped it on my kitchen's hard floor by accident. Since I got it, I've had it running for nearly 16 hours every day. In my hands, it's clearly been battered. For the $19 and change I paid, it's an excellent purchase. br>br>8/12/19 Update: br>It's still going strong after all these years. This poor thing has taken a lot of abuse from me, but it's held up admirably and is still going strong.

a DVD I used to have I've been looking for a replacement for RW since he passed away a few months ago. The previous one had a USB 2 port on it. When it was still working, it was 0 and slower than molasses running uphill in January during a blizzard. This drive is USB 3, has a built-in cable (with a place to store the cable on the underside of the device), and is extremely fast; I'm using it with a late 2015 iMac 5K, and it works flawlessly. So far, there have been no issues with compatibility. Since receiving it, I've ripped about a dozen CDs and a few DVDs with it, and I'm very pleased with the results. When you factor in the low price, it's hard to go wrong.

UPDATE: - from a five-star rating to a one-star rating 1 Stars. br>br>This thing had a total of two plays. I'm going to watch five films. The DVD player then proceeded to devour two perfectly good DVDs. I had to forcefully open the first one it ate (but still carefully) because I assumed it was a one-time thing and the DVD was to blame - I'll have to go out and get a new Bad Santa DVD now. Now I'm watching a second DVD on it, and it's devouring it as well. Now I have to take off the duck tape, dig out my teeny tiny screwdriver, and get back to work on getting my DVD back. The seller offered $10 in exchange for a review, so here it is, dude. DO NOT PURCHASE! br>br> This is a complete waste of time!.

On their product or packaging, the majority of manufacturers proudly display their name or brand. The manufacturer's name was nowhere on the box when I got this external DVD player/writer, except in small letters on the stick-on disc. On the back of the box, there is a UPC label. There is no brand name on the product, but there is a model number. In any case, suffice it to say that it is a "new" product manufactured in China. When compared to traditional external disc drives, the most notable feature of this drive is that the cable to connect to the computer is built-in to the drive, and even has a molded storage space that fits the cable perfectly. The cable is made up of two sections. The user has the option of connecting via USB 3. 0 or USB 3. 0. 0 or USB- A micro-SD slot on the drive's back is a mystery feature. I used a micro-USB cable to connect to the USB port. I used a USB cable to connect the drive to my laptop, and it powered up the drive and allowed me to open it to insert or remove a disc, but my Windows computer did not "see" the drive, and the drive did not play a disc I inserted, even though it churned. I was able to play a rented DVD disc with ease using the built-in cable; however, the small instruction sheet suggests using VLC or 5K player to play discs with this drive (I used VLC). With USB 3/C connectivity and a built-in, self-contained charging station, this device is ideal for travel. This external drive has a built-in cable, making it a high-performance device. lower-level performer For those of us who still need to use DVDs or CDs, this is a no-fuss accessory for today's laptops, which typically lack disc drives.

The first one had a cracked faceplate. I informed the company, and a new one arrived at my door two days later. I've used it at least two dozen times and have never had any issues. The only criticism, which isn't particularly serious, is that the cable is too short; I was aware of this when I purchased it, so I spent an additional $11 on an extension cable. It was a lot easier to attach to the back of my computer with this. You can't go wrong, and the customer service was outstanding; they stand behind what they make and sell. If there is an issue, they will resolve it.

My MacBook Pro recently received the macOS Catalina 10 update. I tested out this new external DVD/CD drive and was pleased to discover that it supported the majority of our DVDs and CDs. It was truly Plug and Play, and the silver color perfectly matched my silver laptop. When we tried my daughter's pre-school program, however, it was a disaster. I checked with the company where I bought the disks, and it appears that I am not the only one who has had this problem. A disclaimer has been added to their website stating that their DVDs are not compatible with macOS 10. 15 years old and up. So, it appears that Apple is to blame for this particular problem. If you're running Catalina, keep this in mind. However, the reason I'm giving this drive one star isn't because of the incompatibility problem (which isn't the fault of the drive manufacturer). The cord has separated from the plug, causing this problem. (I've attached a photo to demonstrate what I'm talking about. ) ) We only used this drive for about an hour and it's already falling apart at the point where the cord connects to the plug. This item will be returned, and I will be looking for something more durable.

It only worked for about four times before it broke. I haven't used it very often, but I have reached the end of my return/product support period. I'm a teacher, and I was hoping to use it to show a movie as a "class reward" or for indoor recess. Even though I kept it in a secure location, it only worked four times before giving up. I'm so disappointed, and as a teacher who enjoys her job but doesn't make a lot of money, I'm irritated by the fact that I'm essentially wasting $25.

This Roofull USB 3. 0 was delivered to me. 0 portable DVD player and decide to test it right away with an old LG USB 2. GP40 is a portable DVD player with a capacity of 0 discs. Here's a quick test to see if you know what you're doing. I'm glad I have my LG with which to compare:

- I'm transferring a 3rd. 5 GB file from the Windows 10 installation disk, super easybr>- Based on a 5-minute observation (see photo), the Roofull DVD transfer speed remains around 3 MB/s. br>- Based on a 5-minute observation (see my photo), the old LG DVD transfer speed stays at 4 MB/s and eventually pushes to 7 to 8 MB/s. br>br>I was speechless when my LG USB 2. Roofull USB 3. 0 is FASTER than 0! I'll get back to you as soon as I can. The Roofull white version, on the other hand, appeals to me because it has a distinctive appearance.
