Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with a USB-powered device? Adaptor c? Only usb-A ports are available on my new Dell laptop. ?

This product was just delivered to me, and it lacks a USB port. The cable that comes with it is a C cable, but it is not proprietary. It's a regular USB 3.0 port. 0 cable, which is similar to the USB 3.0 cable that comes with the computer. 0 HDDs. The only thing that distinguishes it is that it is white and very short.

Will this work on the latest version of Mac OS X, Mojave?

I just put it to the test on my 15-inch MacBook Pro. It's 2016 and Mojave is up and running, and it's great.

I'm curious if this will work on a LG Blu-ray player. Is it better to have a ray home theater system or a television? If I connect the USB to the input, will it work?

No, this is a Windows/Mac OS issue, and Android TVs do not support it. I'm putting together a high-performance Windows 10 PC. Then I'm going to connect this to my 55" television and use it as a monitor so I can watch blue ray through the computer. If you have a Windows 10 computer with an HDMI port and a USB 3.0 port, you can use it to connect to your TV via HDMI. 0 Connect your computer to the television via a HDMI cable. Otherwise, you'll need to purchase a standard blue ray player to connect to your television.

We were unable to make it work
3/5

We tried several times to get it to work, but it was not compatible with our system. We completed and returned a tax return. We didn't get all of our money back because they emailed and said it worked for them. I was completely let down!.

It's a great little drive, but don't buy it if you want to play UHD discs
5/5

I read a lot of reviews of external Blu-ray players before I bought this. Ray is the one who takes the wheel. I had planned to use an LG drive because I had previously used an LG internal drive in my desktop. However, after reading some reviews in which users complained about scratched discs, I decided to go with Pioneer instead. I used to have Pioneer head units in my cars years ago, so I was familiar with their quality. br>br>I bought this drive to read some of my old Blu-ray discs. DVDs and blu-rays are two different types of media. So far, I've probably had it read over 100 different discs, and the only time it didn't work was on a DVD with a lot of scratches. To be fair, I tried the same disk in a different drive, which also failed to read it. However, the Pioneer drive was able to successfully play discs that the other drive couldn't, so I'll call it a win for the Pioneer drive. br>br>This drive is incredibly slim and lightweight. It runs on USB 3 and is fully charged. The version from Amazon comes with the latest firmware already installed (as of today, that's 1. 0), which was a selling point for me because I didn't want to use two USB ports to power the device. 03). I was using the drive on a shaky table when I first got it, and the drive didn't falter or slow down despite the table being bumped several times. Overall, it has left a lasting impression on me. My only concern is its portability, as it appears to be a little fragile; however, I won't be taking this drive on any trips, so portability isn't as important to me (aside from moving it from my desk to a shelf). br>br>However, here are a few words of advice: 1. br>br> Quiet Mode is enabled by default on the drive, which limits the read speed to 2. 0x is the maximum value. To unlock the ability to read discs up to 6, you'll need to download the Pioneer Drive Utility and set it to Performance Mode. 0x. When looking up the drive on Pioneer's US website, the Drive Utility isn't listed as a download, but you can find a link to it (along with firmware updates) here: When I first started using the drive, it wouldn't go faster than 2. I thought it was a faulty one. 0x, only to discover that the firmware needed to be changed. You won't have to change this setting every time you disconnect and reconnect the drive once you've changed it. br>br>2. There are two versions of this drive: this one (BDR-1) and the other (BDR-2). UHD disks are not supported by the XD07B. The BDR-UHD is a version of this drive from Pioneer that can play UHD disks. XD07UHD. This is where you'll find the drive: Pioneer's marketing does a poor job of emphasizing the differences between its own drives. I intended to buy a drive that supported UHD, but this is what I got instead. In any case, I'm still pleased with the drive, and it's my own fault for not paying close enough attention to the description, so my rating remains at five stars.

It's a perfect five-star rating
5/5

This is an excellent drive that reads and writes everything and can also be used to boot from. It is quick and requires no other power source when connected to a USB 3 port. The included Cyberlink Media Suite product key is also a major selling point. Many other external drives do not include any software. The software is simple to download and install, and it runs smoothly after that. Power2Go worked perfectly to burn a Windows 10 installation DVD, and Power DVD played all of my discs as well. During software installation, the only thing you must ensure is that the drive is connected to a USB port. If there isn't a Pioneer drive connected to the system, the software will fail to install.

Software? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no This unit appealed to me for two reasons: It had two features: first, it was top loading, and second, it came with software for burning
3/5

Normally, I'd put my faith in the Pioneer brand. But, as I quickly discovered, the provided software (Cyberlink PowerDirector15) isn't even close to being fully functional. MPEG files cannot be edited, and Blu-ray discs cannot be burned. It comes with a set of blu-ray discs! So you've decided to buy a Blu-ray disc. a Blu-ray burner that comes with software that prevents you from burning a Blu-ray disc ray disc. I contacted Pioneer customer service, who confirmed my suspicions. "The software that comes with the bundle is OEM and not a full version. " To be able to burn Bluray movies, you'll need to upgrade your program through Cyberlink. "br>br>Since then, I've bought more Blu-rays. " ray burning software that isn't great but gets the job done. The burner itself is fine; it's small and made of plastic, and it appears to function properly so far.

Compatible with Mac OS X Catalina
5/5

PROS:
- With MacOS Catalina, it's a dream come true. Plug- and-play. There's no need for any extra software.
- There is no need for a separate power source (as long as the USB port is connected). The back of the device has a DC IN 5V port, but no power cable is included. CONS: br>br>
- But there aren't any. Consider the following: br>br>Things to think about:
- When ripping CDs or DVDs, this drive is *loud*, but that is due to how quickly it reads. br>- Although it has a clam shell design, the opening button is still electric. You might think it's a manual latch, but it actually needs to be turned on to open.
- The open button is disabled after use until the drive is unmounted from the operating system.

It gets the job done
3/5

I can't say I'm disappointed, at least not yet. This BD burner has only been in my possession for a few days. I can't give a rating to Tech Support because I've never needed it. The drive can be noisy at times, and the included USB cable is far too short, but I was able to set it up in a position where the cord was just long enough. br>br>5/2/2020 UPDATE: Now I'm able to express my dissatisfaction with the situation. More DVD R DL COASTERS than good disks have been created by me. It's all over the place, but right now I'm probably averaging one good burn out of every three. That's only for DVD R DL disks, which aren't particularly expensive, but I didn't have any problems with these same disks with previous burners (though I admit, I didn't use them nearly as much as the DVD-R DL disks). The R DLs have been around for nine years. Blank DVDs, on the other hand, Is there a limit to how long R DLs can be used?). As a result, I'm giving it a three-star rating, but I'm keeping an open mind about whether it's just bad luck with these disks.
