Yes. It includes a cable with two USB plugs; both plugs are required for USB 1 and 2 ports, but only one connection is required for USB 3 ports.
Yes, it can play any video game you have if your computer's operating system can read them.
On my original box, it states that it is compatible with Windows 8 and Mac. The O/S Compatibility statement reads as follows: MAC OS X 10.4, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP At least a 5 Cyberlink Power2Go 8 is included in the bundle software. I'm not sure what the MAC in MacBook pro refers to, but you probably do or could look it up. It's also a good idea to check the Cyberlink's compatibility.
No ma'am. The picture shows it straight from the Asus factory, but the package does not include a stand, and the description does not state that one will be included.

I'm a big fan of Asus, but not to the point where I can't see their flaws. br>br>What I like best about this optical drive is the flexibility and ease of use. I recently had to return a laptop from them that was a complete failure, but they generally make great components. br>br>What I like best about this optical drive is the flexibility and ease of use. One of the most frustrating aspects of using an optical drive, in my opinion, is having to install drivers in order to use it. If you're not aware, this means that installing an Operating System such as Windows 10 from a DVD will be more difficult, assuming it's even possible. This device, on the other hand, works as soon as the USB plug establishes a secure connection, even if you haven't yet loaded any operating system. Yes, I realize that's probably pretty standard these days, but it's also a name brand and quite lovely! )br>br>So, yes, I'd recommend this product if you really need an external DVD writer/optical drive; however, don't buy it if all you want to do is install Windows from a disk. If you have another computer and an internet connection, you can install Windows 10 from a USB thumbdrive; all you'll need is the license key from the Windows package.
With Aftermarket Software, it can play DVDs - It's that simple. My desktop's CD drive had "died," so I purchased this. It sounded like an Apache attack helicopter was in the area. Nothing else was on my mind but playing DVD movies. br>br>Please keep in mind that this review was written shortly after the installation. If all of the "1 Star" reviews are from 2015, it's possible that the drives have improved since then. br>br>I positioned the drive far enough back that when the tray was open, it was above the desk top, ensuring that the tray would not be broken or the connections stressed. Although the unit feels "flimsy," it only costs $28, so don't expect it to be built like a tank. br>br>It was simple to set up: br>br>1) Connect the ASUS drive to the computer while it is turned off; I found the provided cables to be long enough for my desktop. br>2) Start the computerbr>3) Open Device Manager, expand DVD/CD Drives, find the "dead" drive, right-click it, and select "Uninstall Device. " Device Manager should now be closed. br>4) Insert the supplied ASUS CD into the ASUS playerbr>5) Open the files on the disc in Windows Explorer. The "AP" folder is divided into four sections. There will be a "Setup" folder in each folder. Double-click the "exe" file to begin the installation process. If you want to burn discs, encrypt files, and so on, you should install all four programs. br>6) The only one you'll need to play DVD movies is "ASUS E-VIDEO PLAYER. " The color "green" denotes the presence of the drivers. This is available for download from the ASUS website, but the version on the included CD is newer. br>7) According to my memory, the ASUS E- The second AP folder is for green software. Install the ASUS E-series motherboard. Remove the ASUS CD after it has turned green. br>8) Install a DVD player app from a third-party developer. There are a lot of them; I tried about ten and finally settled on the Laewo Blu-ray. Ray Player is the best; it displays an advertisement when you pause, but it does not obstruct your enjoyment. I was never asked to sign up or pay for anything. For a long time, I had been using this player with the now-dead internal CD drive in the computer box. br>9) Insert a DVD into the ASUS drive and close it. The Laewo player software will either start up automatically and recognize the disc, or Windows will prompt you to choose what you want to do with DVDs. Choose a player from Laewo's team. br>10) In the center of a blue Laewo home screen, an orange/brown box will appear, with an abbreviated name for the DVD inside. br>11) Press the "Play" button in the center to start the DVD. br>12) Use the up/down arrow keys on your keyboard or the mouse to navigate through the menus. br>13 To eject a DVD, go to the bottom player control panel and select the universal "Stop" symbol (the square blue box on the left). The center box, which is orange/brown, will reappear. The DVD will eject if you click the "Eject" icon in the center box's upper right corner. br>br>So far, so good. This review will be updated if the player stops working or breaks.
The device is simple to operate and reads DVDs well. I had a few issues at first, but I quickly realized I needed to clean the DVD surface once, and it was able to read them correctly after that. When compared to other DVD writers from well-known brands, this one comes in at a great price. I haven't attempted to write any DVDs yet; instead, I've ripped a few of the ones I have. To be clear, this DVD drive does not work with any TV or Android box directly; it must be connected to a computer in order to be used. It comes with a wire with two USB connectors, but you don't need to use both; it worked fine on my Windows 10 computer with just one USB connection. There is also no need to install any additional drivers; the computer should detect it and install the necessary drivers for use.
It's quite effective. It was necessary to download a program in order to watch movies. It is necessary to plug into two USB ports. While running, it makes a lot of noise (watch the video).
No, this is not actually a brand new item. I looked at the online description and it claimed it was brand new but in fact it was from a previous manufacturer, and up to date right after I removed the ziplock bag from the shelf.
In just three months, you'll have used 20 times. After only a few months of use, the product flap came off. We were ripping CDs into iTunes and were able to remove the disc before the front flap came off, which was fortunate. The first one, too, fell apart after only a few uses, and I was foolish to buy it again; I'll never do it again - I'm looking for a different brand because this one clearly has issues with quality. It should last at least 10 years. 20 uses.
This is a simple substitute for the non-replaceable non-replaceable non-re My laptop has a DVD/RW drive that works. My only gripe is the lack of a long USB cable. I work with my laptop on my lap, and the cable is too short for me to place the hard drive on the table next to me. I needed to purchase an extension cord. The disc drawer appears flimsy and vulnerable to damage, but that is true of most drives of this type.
