Questions & Answers
For a long time, I was having trouble with this, and the DVDs it chose to play seemed completely random. Here's how I solved the problem, and hopefully it'll help you as well: 1. br>br> Connect the drive to your computer in the same way you would any other drive. It should show up in your list of devices and drives as usual. It'll be in the "This PC" folder / window in Windows 10, and in My Computer in previous versions of Windows.
2. Locate the DVD drive icon and press the right-click button. click it. Choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu.
3. Select the "Hardware" tab in the new window. There are three drives listed there, but you want the one that says "DVD/CD." Click it.
4. Select the "Properties" button at the bottom right of the window after you've clicked it.
5. Select "DVD Region" from the drop-down menu in the new window. This was the source of my issue.
6. Look for "Current Region" near the bottom of the page. This drive was assigned to Region 2, which covers Japan, Europe, and a few other countries. It is not intended for the United States of America.
7. If yours also says "Region 2" and you're in the United States, scroll down the country list until you find "United States" and select it. When you complete the "New Region:" task, you will be prompted to select a new region. Region 1 will be selected at the bottom. It will inform you that the number of changes you can make is limited. Make sure that when you click "OK" on that warning, you're sending your rebellious rage to our corporate overlords so that they can sense your displeasure with this completely meaningless and ultimately futile excuse for an anti-terrorism measure. system of piracy
8. Once you've selected OK, you should be good to go. br>br>What I suspect is that the model I received was intended for sale in Europe but, because Amazon is Amazon, the shipment was pushed around the world at random. Because they received the Region 1 version, some people will have no issues with this drive. I also believe that the arbitrary play reliability is due to the fact that some DVDs are region locked for the US, which means they won't play, while others aren't locked at all, which means they will. br>br>Even with this, some DVDs were still a pain to get working, but they've all worked so far. I hope this information is useful to you.
It does come with a case for an external hard drive.
If the files are too large and the USB power supply is insufficient, you can use the extra data cable to connect an external power supply to the DC input port.
It can, of course, transfer songs from a PC to a blank CD. Your CDS can also be downloaded to your laptop or PC.

Because most newer laptops do not include a CD/DVD player, when the CD/DVD player/burner on my old laptop died, I was unable to access the numerous music and data CDs and DVDs on my newer work and personal Dell laptops. br>br>I chose Apiker because it came with a case and a dual USB cable (Type-A and Type-C). C), as well as USB 3. 0 support. 0 indicates that the read and transfer speeds are faster. Two additional USB ports, as well as a Micro-USB port, were included. There was an SD card slot as well as a standard SD card slot, which was a huge plus. br>br>To be honest, I didn't expect much from this CD/DVD player and burner for the price, but I was pleasantly surprised not only by the CD/DVD player/burner, but also by the case. There was no need to load any additional software or drivers because the CD/DVD player/burner was simply plug and play. I also liked the dual USB cable that tucks into the player's bottom, reducing the number of cables I have to worry about losing while traveling. br>br>The USB and Micro-USB ports SD cards as well as standard SD cards worked perfectly. In addition, there is the semi- The hard case was also a nice bonus because the player fits nicely in it, and the hard sides and padded bottom not only make it easy to carry this player around, but they also add a good amount of protection. br>br>I haven't tried the DVD burner capabilities of this player/burner yet, but I don't expect any problems, and I'm still amazed at the quality of the CD/DVD player/burner and case that I got for this price. br>br>The seller did a good job with pictures of the CD/DVD player/burner, but only showed a little of the case, so I've included a couple of pics below. I hope you found this review to be useful.
They said it had USB ports and an SD card slot in the description, but the back of the unit I got only had the DC Power Input. I was hoping for a product that would provide me with all of the removable storage I could possibly require, but.

I've only used the DVD player; none of the other features have been used. br>br>The DVD player is so quiet that you don't even realize it's turned on. When the DVD player has been on for more than 20 minutes, it enters sleep mode, which causes the screen to freeze. The only way to resume the DVD is to close the main window, which takes about 2-minutes. It only takes three minutes. br>br>In addition, to resume a DVD, you must first eject the disc and then close the slot. br>br>In addition, the DVD player's eject button is broken, so you must eject the disc from the main window. Because I use an Apple computer, the only option for me is QuickTime player, which has a lot of limitations in terms of fiction. br>br>Overall, the DVD player performs as expected, is very small and quiet, and there is no doubt that it can be improved.
I tried running it on a powerful iMac and a Macbook Pro, but after two days, I gave up and just bought a superdrive. br>br>This thing was a struggle out-of-the-box. the- box. When I tried to play a DVD, it ejected it three times before playing only half of it and then failing. There were clicks and spinning on the drive, and it never sounded quite right. Before deciding it couldn't burn a cd, it trashed four of them. I don't believe it was harmed in any way; rather, I believe it was a piece of trash. If you're a Mac user, save your money for the superdrive; this drive is garbage from the start.
The VLC driver must be downloaded for Windows 10 according to a small note in the terse instruction manual. Their first step requires you to visit a page where you must purchase a $10 monthly subscription. You can install the driver by not following their instructions and instead using the separate download tab. However, this is primarily an audio or video player app that does not allow you to see the disc, which is especially important when dealing with data discs, burn, or copy disks. br>br>This item is a complete waste of time.
