I have a corsair survivor stick that is no longer functional. I burned a Windows reinstall iso to it and then tried to reformat the stick after that. It stopped working right away. It had been nearly two years since this happened. I was recently adamant about getting it to work because I knew it was in perfect working order. I searched the internet for drivers and solutions but came up empty-handed. br>br>I'm about to reinstall my operating system, so I downloaded and installed a free program called Mini Tool Partition. I decided to give it a shot. My computer couldn't even see the stick, let alone recognize it. It didn't show up. It was noticed by the tool. I chose create from the context menu when I right-clicked. I made a partition out of what had previously been unallocated space, gave the stick a name, changed the file system from FAT to NTFS, and applied the changes. Boom. It was noticed by the computer now. After that, I added a small file to it. [autorun]br>icon=br> br> br> br> br> br> br> br> the name of the icon I'm using. I also uploaded a photo to ico. The 'drive' was in ico format and had a unique icon. It took me 3 minutes to complete the entire procedure. Visit redketchup.io/icon for more information. Upload your image and save it as an ico file using the editor. For best results, make it a square photo with a resolution of at least 300 pixels. It has a great look to it and is easy to recognize. On your notepad, type that tiny code and save it to the root of the stick (not in a folder). To avoid accidentally deleting a file or a photograph, go to the properties of both and check hidden. You can also call yourself a code developer now. !!!! br>br>I have three of these memory sticks from Samsung. The fact that they are USB-compatible is appealing to me. C, with a USB A adaptor in case it's ever needed. Samsung's dependability is another plus for me. The corsair survivor is charming, but it comes at a high price.

The drive functions well, and I have no complaints about it, but it is not a dual-ended USB drive, and it lacks a standard USB end. It's a USB-connected device. C drive with a USB adaptor that fits on top of it. This part is easily misplaced, and it protrudes further from the machine, increasing the risk of it being knocked loose. I didn't buy it for the adaptor; I wanted a drive with both ends integrated.
Our office uses OneDrive for Business for cloud storage, but I like having both cloud-based and on-premises storage options. As a precaution, I wanted to use a cloud-based service and an offline backup for my work documents, and I figured this device would suffice for the latter; I also have a OnePlus 3T phone and figured the USB-C port would suffice. Because I just got this USB drive today, I can't comment on the read and write speeds in detail, but many other reviews can. I downloaded one game from Steam onto this drive and it did not appear to be slow when writing the data to the drive; however, I have yet to test how well it plays the games. br>br>My main focus is on a question that many mac users will have: "Will it fit into the usb c port and allow me to charge on the same side?"br>br>I have attached two photos of the drive in the usb c port with the official apple charge cord plugged in next to it. Holy crap! This is a slow process! I needed something that would allow me and a friend to share MP4 files so we could analyze our bowling. This has the same transfer rate as the older USB 2. I was using a value of 0 at the time. Copy speeds range from 8 to 20 megabits per second. I tried a few different files. I haven't been able to get anything faster than 20 mbps. As a result, the advertised 200 megabits per second is nonsense. When I plugged into my USB 3. 0 hub, I got the following speeds. I got the same speed with a gen 2 PCIE card plugged into my USB 3. 0 port. There is only one slot for Generation One.
While the read speeds are acceptable, the write speeds are a different story. I used to get 30-percentage points. On a USB 3, the maximum real-world file transfer (to and from) speed is 35MB/s. On two different computers, there is a single Gen 2 port. The read/write speed is very good. I'm writing this review solely to refute claims that this drive has a slow write speed. That is not the case. br>br>Both of the attached images show the same files being copied to and from the Samsung USB drive, with file sizes ranging from 700MB to 5GB in total. br>br>A screenshot of my benchmark results was also included. To get a more realistic picture of performance, I used CrystalDisk's 'Real World' setting rather than the peak performance setting. This is just one example. br>br> Other to/from copies may be faster, but this is a good example, and it's the only one I bothered to screen capture. br>br>All data is transferred via USB. br>br>Great drive; if you have a decent system and everything is optimized correctly, you can expect this level of performance. I'm not sure what the people who complain about slow write speeds are doing, but something is wrong on their end - The drive performs admirably and consistently.
