My motherboard (Gigabyte B550 GAMING X ATX AM4) came with a mount similar to this, but it didn't appear to be a heatsink mount, and my heatsink (CoolerMaster Hyper 212) had its own. I tossed this mount because it was made of plastic and I assumed it was packaging material. br>br>After a few weeks, I decided to upgrade the heatsink to an AIO (MasterLiquid 240 AM4 adapter) and realized my mistake after watching an installation video. I bought it after throwing away the one that came with my MOBO. I had no idea that some "older" liquid coolers still use the stock AM4 adapters. This, on the other hand, worked out perfectly.
