Questions & Answers

What's the difference between the nh d15 and the nh c14 newer versions I bought for my amd a10 6800k in order to keep it cool with temperatures?

There are two distinct designs for coolers. The c14 is a single-tower design that is ideal for saving space or achieving ultra-quiet operation. If you can get the dh15s to work for it, that is. It will outperform the c14 in every way. br>The dh15s is for ram clearance and isn't meant to obstruct the first PCI slot. br>I hope that this information is useful.

Is it possible to use the included attachments to mount a standard 140mm fan?

From the New Hampshire- Noctua D15S web pagebr>Dual-Camera Noctua D15S Noctua D15S Noctua fan-readybr>By using the extra fan clips that come with the package, the NH- The D15S can be upgraded with a second round of ammo or a second round of ammo. 140mm fan with 120mm mounting holes (for example, the NF-140) A15) for the best results, or a standard 120mm fan (such as the NF-120) for everyday use. F12) for increased performance while maintaining compatibility with RAM modules with a height of up to 45mm. br>I'd go with the Noctua fans because they have a more concentrated air flow. Because the cooler is designed for fans with 120mm hole spacing, it appears that a 140mm fan would be difficult to install.

Is all of the am4 mounting hardware included, or will I have to purchase it separately?

Yes, it includes am4 hardware.

What is the height of this refrigerator? The order of the numbers is not always specified by the manufacturers. ?

Noctua's website has been updated, and the Height (with fan) is now the same as the Height (without fan), which is 160 mm. The maximum CPU cooler height in my case is 160 mm, and that cooler fits perfectly.

A custom loop with a 240mm radiator would be just as good
5/5

but with a lower volume! I've been using a custom water filter for quite some time now. I've had this cooling setup for a long time and have always enjoyed it. In the ten years or so that I've been doing this, I've never had a leak or a component fail. cooling - Mostly because I purchase high-quality goods and conduct extensive research. br>br>Well, I've recently had a desire for more cooling capacity than my 240mm radiator can provide. However, in my case, there is no space for a better or additional radiator - In addition, my system must be reasonably portable. So I had no choice but to purchase a case capable of housing my system, as well as another radiator or two. Looking around, the most I could come up with was a budget of around $300 for the entire upgrade. for a system that would be more difficult to transport. I didn't want to spend as much money on this as I did. br>br>So I decided to take a look around to see what the best air cooling systems were and, of course, I came across the NH- D15 (as well as the S variant) are two different types of D15. After taking measurements and seeing Noctua's AM4 kit in action - and stated that it would be free of charge - I knew this would be a relatively safe way to ensure compatibility with early adopters. I snatched up a copy of the NH- D15S. br>br>I wasn't expecting the cooler to be as effective as my water-cooling system. I had a cooling setup in mind, but I figured it'd suffice for my needs - I could also keep my water bottle in my hand. When I really want to go all out and spend a fortune on a sweet rig that won't be moving around in the future, I'll get a cooling kit. I was mistaken, as it turned out. This thing performs just as well as my custom loop did when it was set up for decent acoustic performance. Sure, I could crank my pump to 100% and my fans to 100% and the D15S wouldn't be able to keep up, but this system is a foot from my head and I just can not stand% My fans, as well as the pump, were usually at idle when using PWM, and they'd all ramp up in response to temperature changes. I didn't want them to start up while I was playing games, so I set the target temperatures for the fans and the pump to 60 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius, respectively. As a result, my CPU idle temperatures were around 35 degrees Celsius, and my maximum temperatures were around 78 degrees Celsius (i7 2600k @ 4). 0 GHz 0 GHz 0 GHz 0 GHz 0 015V), but it may reach 80C for a brief period. br>br>However, the D15S outperformed my water-cooled laptop with just one fan. Using the same PWM settings as before, I've created a cooling setup. The idle temperature is 32 degrees Celsius, with a maximum temperature of 77 degrees Celsius (using IBT @ Very High). What struck me the most was how much quieter this thing is than my own relatively quiet water-based system. set up for cooling I added a second fan (a Cougar 120mm PWM fan) to the D15S, which keeps the highs at 76C - As a result, there has been little change. br>br>Clearly, *IF* I return to water-based activities, I'll only consider it if the radiator surface area is significantly larger. On top of the radiator and tubing costs, this will necessitate the purchase of a new, expensive case. As a result, I'm having difficulty justifying such an action. I'm thinking about sticking to air conditioning. What higher compliment can you bestow on a heatsink? br>br>In addition, the setup was simple, everything is of excellent quality, and so on.

Cools an i9 9900k more effectively than a 240 or 280 AIO
5/5

I needed something for an i9 9900k cooling solution, and this product is fantastic. This was purchased to replace a Corsair 100i v2 that was clearly ineffective, consistently reaching 95 degrees and maintaining dangerously high temperatures while idle. br>br>With the 15S, I don't have to worry about anything and have a very quiet cooling tower that performs well. I put it through a stress test with number one. All cores were run at 315 volts at 5 GHz and the temperature never exceeded 80 degrees Celsius. I used the thermal paste that came with it, but I'm planning on switching to artic silver 5 or kyonaut as soon as I finish this review. br>br>Fits a Z390 Tuf Micro atx gaming without clearance issues. With ease, I added another noctua 120m to the front, and it remained quiet.

I'd been looking for something like this
5/5

A few months ago, when I was building my first PC, I bought the NH-D15. I bought the D15 without realizing it blocked the first PCIe slot on my motherboard; at the time, I didn't realize Noctua has a website that lists which motherboards it will block the first PCIe slot on, which was my mistake (don't make the same mistake; make sure the HSF you want isn't too large for your specific motherboard before you buy it). br>br>In the end, I got the NH- Instead, I went with the U12S, which worked fine but didn't allow me to overclock the CPU as much as I wanted. A few months later, Noctua announced the NH-D1. It's a D15S, and it's exactly what I've been looking for. The NH- My first GPU's backplate was scratched by D15, but the NH-D15 was unaffected. Between the fan's edge and the backplate, D15S has a good inch of space. br>br>For the record, I'm running this on an Intel 5820K. Using the NH- I was able to reach 4 in U12S. At 1. 2 GHz, 2 volts at full load while keeping temperatures below 85 C (Intel XTU stress testing). When you upgrade to the NH-, you'll have a lot more options. I'm currently at 4. D15S, I'm currently at 4. At 1. 5 GHz, 275 volts, with temperatures below 80 degrees Celsius (I haven't tried anything higher). It was well worth the upgrade, and my ideal PC has now become even better:.

A fantastic CPU cooler with only a minor installation challenge
5/5

(It's most likely because I'm a moron. ) It performs admirably as a processor cooler. It's straightforward, and I can see how this cooler would be compatible. The fan is quiet, and the materials used are of high quality. It comes with three different instruction manuals that are simple to read and follow. However, I do have one minor quibble. The only difficult part of the installation was attaching the fine to the mounting brackets. Screwing it in was a bit of a challenge. You can't get the other side to screw in if you screw in one side too much. Surprisingly, the margin of error is low. If the mother board isn't removed from the case, the task becomes even more difficult. (I didn't), but it was my first time replacing a CPU cooler, and I was probably a little too nervous, making things more difficult than they needed to be in the end. That's what I'm assuming is the case. Though the screws that connect the fins to the mounting bracket were on spring, it was more difficult to line them up and make the threads catch. I'm not sure why this is the case; it just seems to make things more difficult than they need to be. Overall, despite the issues I encountered, it's a great CPU cooler with a simple design, clear instructions, and a simple installation. I'd tell a friend about it. Finally, I would advise removing your motherboard in order to install this cooler. I believe it would alleviate the issue I had with the Cooler installation, but I didn't want to mess with the motherboard unless it was absolutely necessary. I have a knack for making simple tasks difficult.
