Trying to save money on $45 worth of metal and rubber was crazy to me as a smart shopper. I have purchased five pairs of shoes and am very pleased with them. Getting to hike in the snow at Flagstaff, AZ later in the season (April) was a wonderful experience. In icy conditions, they'll work well, too. The socks were easy to put on and stayed on my shoes, they provided good traction on shallow snow and packed (groomed) snow. I felt comfortable leaving them on in patches without snow because they were study enough to serve their purpose. It fitted well on my 9 because I got the XL size. I wear a full size 5 Oboz hiking boot, but I like a smaller size.

My driveway and parking area were iced over for a few days recently after I used them. My footing is excellent and I have a normal walking style. Since they require a little bit of effort to get on, I would recommend using them on an extra pair of shoes. But once they're on, they're going to stand up to a lot of wear.
