So far, everything has gone well. Despite being made in China, they appear to be well made and of good quality leather. They're a lot more substantial than I anticipated. I haven't had a pair like this in a very long time. While I was waiting for these to arrive, I looked at a few other brands, and while I think some of them are nicer and possibly better made than the Die Hards, they are also two to three times the price. The only thing I don't like about these is the plastic welt between the sole and the boot. That most likely means they can't be resoled, as someone on YouTube (Essential Craftsman) pointed out. At this point, it's pointless to bother with these at this price. The only decent Cobbler I know is around 90 years old, and resoleing a pair of Red Wings would most likely cost the same as these. We'll see how long they last, and we'll keep you updated if anything unexpected occurs. ✌️.
I remember buying them at Sears and remembering that they were made in the United States. My previous pair's sole stitching came apart, resulting in a gaping hole on the inside, and I recently received a replacement pair. China is the source of this product. I'm hoping they stick around. smh.
My job entails the installation of underground utilities. My job is extremely taxing on my feet. I'm either kicking jagged rocks into a trench or repairing asphalt on a regular basis. Timberland Pro, Wolverine, Red Wing, and Die Hard boots are among the boots I currently own. Each pair has strengths and weaknesses that are unique to them. Work boots, like all other footwear, become unwearable over time. The leather on these Die Hard boots is extremely thick. They're definitely tough and well-made for the price, with a sturdy sole. You can't go wrong with this one if you're hard on your boots and prefer a moc toe with a wedge sole and steel shank.
These boots had me all pumped up. They have a nice thick sole with an extra layer of rubber on the bottom, which is nice because it makes you a little taller and prevents the foam from wearing down as quickly as it would if it were in direct contact with the ground. The big issue/design flaw and problem with the regular width sizes for this boot is that the design pushes your big toe inwards on a drastic angle for work boots, and nobody wants to work in these or any boots that push their big toe inwards all day or every day. We all want work boots that allow our toes to splay naturally so that we can stay comfortable throughout the day. I had to send these back and replace them with the wide version of this boot. I have not yet received the wide version, but once I do, I will write a review.
I've been wearing these boots around the house for a few days now and they're fantastic; I'm excited to wear them to work!.
Thank you.
It's been about a month, and they've settled in nicely. It took about two days for me to start loosening up. This will be a fantastic deal if they last longer than 7 months in a construction environment.
