The stakes are extremely high when it comes to first impressions. The American flag is painted on the box from Thorogood. I realize it has nothing to do with the fit or construction of the boots, but I smiled like a small child opening a Christmas present. God bless the United States of America! br>br>I'll admit that my foot is long, flat, and narrow. If you're a man who has struggled to find B width boots like me, you know how limited our options are. I've gone through eight pairs of red wings as well as a variety of other brands. My favorite pair of red wings is no longer available, so I went online to look for something that wouldn't kill me after a 12-hour day at the office. br>br>I normally wear a size 12 B in red wings, and I ordered the same size in these Thorogoods. I thought they might be a little long at first, but I couldn't go down 1/2 a size, so I'd say they're fairly true to size. These are the first pair of boots I've ordered that aren't steel toe, so I can't compare them to my other boots because I can't check where my toe truly sits in my steel toes. br>br>In terms of the narrow width, I think it's perfect. If you have narrow feet, you're well aware that when laced tightly, all boots look a little strange because the gap between the two halves is usually quite close together. This hasn't changed in these boots, unfortunately. To be honest, I don't give a damn about how they look as long as they fit properly. The pinky toe area and the widest part of my foot are a little tight, but that's to be expected in new boots. They'll stretch out, and I'd rather have them a little snug than too loose and blistered. br>br>The soles, construction, and stitching appear to be very similar to that of any other real man's work boot. My ariats, red wings, and now these all have a lot in common. I suppose the color is acceptable. Since I'm a mechanic, I really wish they would make a black boot with a dark sole. I suppose I shouldn't complain because the red will turn dark red and the white sole will turn black in the coming week. br>br>I'll keep wearing these and update this review once I've had a chance to put them through their paces in the shop. So far, I'd say that if you're debating whether or not to spend a day's pay on some red wings, you should order these instead and treat the old lady to some Big Macs. These are a highly recommended boot if you have narrow feet like me, and I can see why now. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> These have broken in nicely after being worn every other day (I alternate boots). Of course, the soles are no longer white, and the leather's orange has darkened from daily exposure to oil. They've taken on the shape of my feet quite nicely. One thing I've noticed is that my right boot rubs where the edges of all the stitching meet on the outer edge of my foot just before the pinky toe. Isn't it bad enough that it causes a blister? When I wear them all day, my skin becomes red and irritated. I'm not sure what the fix would be, but they're well broken in, so it's either a defect in this boot or something wrong with my right foot; I've never had this problem with any other boot brands, so I'm guessing it's the boot. br>br>The soles are very comfortable, and the boots are very light. Even though I only work for 12 hours a day, these are still my favorites. My feet aren't tired when I get home, except for one spot that rubs. After a long day on the job, concrete can take its toll, but these boots are here to help.

Boots took a few days to break in and feel comfortable on my feet, but I loved them until today when I got home from work. I've been wearing these boots to work for a total of ten days, and one of the boots' soles has already shredded. br>br>Update: At the 18-day mark, I've realized these boots weren't made for construction; the leather has already developed tears, not scratches, and I can see how thin the leather is, so that's most likely why. br>br>These boots would likely be ideal for home construction or finishing work, but not for commercial use.

These boots are high-quality and made in the United States, which appeals to me. A . They're great for the office. on the. On the other hand, if you're looking for home or dress boots, go to a store and try on a pair. I've already returned one pair because the boots don't match. The left boot toe is stitched high on top of the toe, while the right boot toe is stitched much lower in front of the toe. So they fit fine but look ridiculous for $190. You'd think for that price they'd have better quality control.

These boots piqued my interest because they were made in the United States and received excellent reviews. I was dissatisfied with the construction quality and had to return them due to an extremely uncomfortable sharp spot inside the left boot that would not go away. Also, after the first half day, my left boot heel began to make an annoying clicking sound that could be heard by anyone within 10 feet of where I was walking. It was also discernible. Perhaps it was just a bad left boot, because the right one was fantastic. But, because I have two feet, I require not one, but two pairs of good boots. Sorry, Thorogood, I gave it a shot once but will not do so again.

These were purchased by my husband, and he found them to be the most comfortable boots he has ever worn. After a few wears, the top of his boot (tougue) began to dig into his foot, making these the polar opposite, and now (he's in pain) and we'd like something done about it. He's tried adjusting the boots and putting them on and off several times, but there's something wrong with the boot that makes it a complete waste of money until further notice. br>Please tell me there's something we can do about this so my husband can wear some decent boots again. He was in excruciating pain from being on his feet all day in them, so he had to go back to his old boots until something could be done. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.

The first pair of boots I ordered were a size 12W, and they were delivered in a size 12WW. Because of the shoddy fit, it was returned. 11 orders have been placed. It was supposed to be 5W, but it arrived at 11W. 5WW. I was on the verge of bursting into tears - However, I tried them on anyway - The fit is perfect. With a WW rating and half a shoe size difference, there is a significant difference in width. I hope this information is useful to someone in the future. br>br>These are the first pair of high-quality, expensive boots I've purchased in my 40-year career. I used to love Georgia boots, but a defective boot ruined my last purchase, and they refused to stand behind their product, even though they were more than willing to sell me a new pair. I'm out as a customer for the rest of my life - When someone takes advantage of me, I don't take it lightly. According to all the comments I've read after my three days of boot research, I believe Thorogood would make things right if something went wrong. With regular rebuilding, I expect to be able to keep these boots for a long time. Wishing you a wonderful day - Always keep in mind: Invest in a good pair of shoes. It's your due.
