Questions & Answers

What does it mean to have packaging that isn't a source of frustration?

If you don't have the original packaging, be wary of buying this product. These units are resold by a slew of online retailers - They can fail over time.br>br>I think the V Legend is fantastic - However, after owning five of them over the years and having each one fail after a year or so, I'm switching to the 5200 in the hopes of better results. These should last a long time for the price of $100. The only reason I keep buying them is that they are the best phone headset/mic on the market; nothing else comes close. br>br>Once again, my advice is to buy only in new factory packaging; the high failure rate on this model means there are a lot of duds out there being sold as "new" - When I was looking for a cost-effective replacement for the unit, I fell for the ruse myself.

The charger is magnetic. Is it possible to charge it using a standard micro USB charger?

To charge the Voyager Legend, you'll need a special mating connector, which you can't get from a regular micro USB cable. The Voyager Legend headset has five exposed, gold-plated buttons. plated electrical contacts that mate with a set of 5 charging pins nestled in a cupped concave surface that complements the convex part of the Legend Normal electricity, not magnetic energy, is transmitted through these contacts. Note that this is a direct DC charging method, as opposed to the AC magnetic field charging method used by other appliances such as electric toothbrushes or the Qi cell phone charging standard.br>br>However, magnets are used to attach the charging connector to the headset. br>br>Mating pins for charging the headset can be found in one of two places:
1. "Voyager Legend 9" USB Charging Cable" is printed on the USB charging cable's end. This cable has a male USB type A connector on the other end. The Voyager Legend headset exposed electrical contacts are seated against the proprietary cable contacts by a magnet inside the proprietary cable end. - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Within the "Voyager Legend Portable Charge Case" (part number 89036-), there is a "Voyager Legend Portable Charge Case" (part number 89036-). This case accepts a standard micro USB cable for power, which it uses to charge its internal battery as well as route power to the case's pin contacts. This case also contains a powerful magnet that pulls the headset tightly into the pins and properly seats it. br>br>Other products, including aftermarket products, that provide the mating connector may exist that I am unaware of. br>br>I have to say, the proprietary charging contact approach appeals to me a lot. I keep my Voyager Legend on a shelf with a USB power supply, and it's very simple to just casually place the headset near the USB cable, and the magnet pulls the headset in and seats it perfectly. I've had the same Legend since I bought it new in 2013 (it's now 2021), and it's mostly been a very reliable headset with good battery life, which I appreciate because it hasn't degraded significantly in the 8 years I've had it. Plantronics most likely chose their OEM battery suppliers carefully, resulting in a very long-lasting battery. The headset has a built-in battery that lasts for a long time. I've noticed that other cheap Bluetooth headsets I've used have a 2-hour battery life. 3 years.

Is your voice audible to the person on the other end of the line?

I purchased this headset at the start of the year and have been using it on two phones (an iPhone 6 and a Galaxy S5) nonstop since then. When I first got the device, the voice quality was excellent, and the noise-cancelling capabilities were outstanding. br>Unfortunately, after a few weeks, people began to accuse me of having a static voice. ish, and the sound quality of what I was hearing was degrading as well. br>It's now to the point where I can't use the headset at all. I'm disappointed because I'm a huge Plantronics fan who has outfitted people in my company with SAVI units and other Plantronics products over the years.br>I'll contact Plantronics about this and will update this post with more information.

Is it possible to use this product to mute your voice? If so, how do you do it?

You certainly can, but I prefer to use my phone's mute function. A manual that explains how to mute the device is included with the device.

Disconnects from the phone on a regular basis
3/5

Over the last few years, I've gone through three of them. They are wonderful at first, but quickly become irritating and unreliable. If I'm connected and try to make a call, it will disconnect (not unpair), and I'll have to hit the Bluetooth icon on the call screen to reconnect; it will then connect and disconnect as it sees fit throughout the call. This, I believe, is due to the "feature" that detects when you remove your headset and disconnects you automatically. The issue is that it is never quite right. Oh, and if you wear a hat, this is thrown off as well. It starts to believe you've removed it and. . There are even more gaps. I'd give it another shot if they could fix the issue or remove the feature that was causing it. I'm done with this brand if that's the case.

This is my THIRD Plantronics Voyager Legend [PVL] - it's the best BT available for the money. I had to replace the other two because I accidentally dropped my first one into a swimming pool and didn't realize it until later, and I recently lost the second one. In an attempt to save a few dollars, I tried several different Bluetooth headsets in between my PVLs - They were a total waste of money and time. PROS: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> • br>br>br>br>br>br>b Crisp, clear soundbr>• Noise reduction for the person on the other end of the linebr>• Connects quickly and effortlessly EVERY TIMEbr>• Incredibly long battery lifebr>• Charges quicklybr>• Exceptionally comfortable (you may forget it's there)br>• Doesn't need to be "pushed into" or "plugged into" your ear canalbr>• Sweat proofbr> dirt proofbr>• Extra long lasting - • Can be worn on either earbr>br>br>CONS: Can be worn on either earbr>br>br> br>• It was so comfortable that I forgot I was wearing it and misplaced it "TWICE!" • Weird, magnetic charging cable - (Totally my fault)br> PURCHASE THE CHARGING CASE FOR AN EXTRA $20. It will keep your headset safe and charge it in the event of a power outage. It connects to the computer via a micro USB port. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? br>br>WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO? NOW IS THE TIME TO GET THIS HEADSET!.

I've finally found the ideal match! This wireless bluetooth earpiece is fantastic
5/5

I was on the lookout for a good one. I tried some gaming headsets that were far too large, as well as some traditional call center pieces that didn't play music - Only phone calls are allowed. Then I went online to see which option would be best for business use, and this was suggested. It's fantastic! When a call comes in, it asks if I want to answer it or send it to voicemail, and all I have to do is tell it what I want. There isn't anything I need to touch. It does a good job of playing my music and has a clear sound. I called a few people to see how they could hear me, and while I was driving down the highway, I was told that they could hear me crystal clear with no background noise, and that all of the buttons were very convenient. I have average-sized ears, and the piece is a little big on top of them, but I think that's how it's supposed to be, and I'm just not used to it yet. That is going to happen. I could wear this thing on my ear all day and go about my business, chores, and errands without thinking about it. There are no wires, and the phone is a good distance away, so if I forget where I put it - The piece, however, is stuck in my ear - I can still pick up the phone from any room in my house. There's a volume button that can also be used as a forward or rewind button, a USB plug and wall adapter that comes with it, a call, play, end call, redial button, and a voice demand/energy report/mute button all in one button. It's compact, comfortable, and has excellent sound and voice quality.

This one is a keeper after purchasing a number of Bluetooths
4/5

So far, I've been pleased with this Bluetooth device. It's been three months since I've used it and it's still going strong. Nobody on the other end of the line has ever said they couldn't hear me, and when I tell them, they say things like "I had no idea you were using a Bluetooth. " It does not appear to pick up background sounds or wind as well as my iPhone. br>br>As far as hearing the other person goes, I have excellent hearing. EXCEPT for the fact that the volume is a little low in a noisy environment. Even with the volume turned all the way up, I still have to concentrate on the call or cup my hand over my ear if I'm in a particularly noisy environment. The volume increased after I updated the firmware, but it could have been louder. The volume is adequate in most situations. br>br>I strongly advise purchasing the charging case as well. I charge the case once a week (for a couple of hours) and it will charge the headset every night when I go to bed, without having to be plugged in. br>br>I work in construction and have had no problems with it being exposed to a lot of sweat and even rain. br>br>I wear glasses, and it works fine. br>br>I'm going to buy it again.

This company has a strange vibe to it
3/5

So I first ordered the standard packaging, which I had no idea what it was. It was the year 1989. The earpiece, two cords, some ear tips, and one wall plug were all included in the package, which came in a brown box. I never got to use it because when I went to change your tip, I discovered that the hearing module was completely broken, with only a few dangling electrical wires connecting it to the rest of the unit. As a result, I returned it to the sender. Concerned that standard packaging meant used or refurbished items, I upgraded to the $99. 00 frustration-free package. This came in the same brown box packaging as the standard packaging, but with only one cord, no wallplug, and the same number of ear tips as the standard packaging. So, in essence, I paid $10 more for one or fewer cords and one last wallplug, which is absurd. The item is described as new, but based on the packaging, I'm not sure that's correct. It appears to be a refurbished product, and based on my experience with the broken item in the standard package, it must be a refurbished product; after all, a new product would never arrive broken, would it? I'm also perplexed by the packaging, and I'm not sure if it's genuine. I'm thinking of filing a complaint with Amazon. Be careful who you buy from.
