I've owned at least 12 of these types of headsets; the models have varied (hd pro, voyager, and so on), but they've all performed admirably. br>After that, I bought a voyager-style boat. 5200 and I always buy two at a time because I'm on the phone all day and half the night. I noticed that when it got cooler outside, the other person couldn't hear me turn off and on and back in for about 5 - 10 minutes. It's getting worse after 10 minutes of starting over. In the 1950s, it's still doing it. br>Not just one of them, but both of them are doing the same thing. br>After owning these for years and loving everything about them, I now have to look for a new brand because the company was sold and they are no longer available.

I've never used a headset with better background noise cancellation. The audio quality is comparable to that of my blue snowball desk microphone. In the included case, it charges quickly. I have two different linux laptops (arch linux and Ubuntu), and the USB dongle worked flawlessly in both of them, requiring no additional configuration to allow it to seamlessly switch between phone and computer connections. The ease with which it connects and switches between sources makes me realize how low-quality the rest of my blue tooth gear is. It can intelligently pair with my phone in the car for only phone conversations, not media streaming. br>br>At first, I wanted it to fit more IN my ear and felt like it wasn't fitting properly, but after switching to the larger ear piece and allowing it to fit more against my ear, it stayed in place and was easy to hear even when working outside in the yard or hiking through the woods. The only drawback is that the speaker could be a little louder; if the background noise is particularly loud (such as standing next to a running engine), it can be difficult to hear, even if the people you're speaking with can clearly hear you. br>br>This headset far exceeded any expectations I had for such a device. If you travel or work remotely and value audio quality and presence in virtual meetings, do yourself a favor and purchase it. It is well worth the money.
When used for dictation, this headset has better voice recognition than the older Voyager Legend model. Once paired, it connects to either a computer or a mobile phone, depending on the input source. There are no instructions other than a card showing how to pair the device and a google search term to find Plantronics setup instructions. com. Follow the instructions on the computer screen to update the headset's firmware (which is actually contained in the USB plug). Searching for YouTube videos is pointless because they are all out of date. Because there aren't any more explicit instructions, I gave it a 4 out of 5 star rating. For performance, I give it a five out of five.
I bought this after having a Plantronics voyager headset for three years that had served me well until it finally died and could not hold a charge for long periods of time. I walk in the morning listening to music, so having that feature is important to me, and I don't like ear buds, so I finally gave in and bought this one, and it was well worth it! People have also commented on how much better they can hear me, so I'm happy. The battery lasts a long time and charges quickly. Because I have small ears, it took some getting used to in comparison to my previous one, which only had a thin ear piece, but I no longer notice it. Oh, how I adore the Alexa feature on there, too, because I have them all over my house, so I can ask it questions even when I'm not at home! Plus, I have Amazon Music, which allows me to listen to my music by simply asking it to play it. I'm also a fan of that feature. You can also have it set timers for you, which is extremely convenient! Request that it or Google make phone calls on your behalf. It accomplishes a lot. This headset is fantastic!.
To begin, I'd like to state that I was first introduced to the Plantronics brand in 2018 when I began working for a particular company. I tried a few different headsets and ear pieces before deciding on this one. br>br>It hurt my inner ear for the first few days, but that seems to be a natural reaction to having something in your ear that wasn't there before. It stopped hurting after a couple of days, and I didn't even notice I was wearing it. I can't tell you how many times I've realized I was still wearing this headset when I was half-way out the door for lunch or at the end of the day. On several occasions, I've brought it home by accident. I'm getting off track here. br>br>The headset appears to have average sound quality, and I've never been told that I wasn't transmitting my voice clearly. I've also never been told that my sound quality is exceptional or exceptional, so it does the job, but not spectacularly. Regardless of the product specifications, this headset can be used at a distance of about 15 feet. You must keep a clear line of sight at a distance of 25 feet. My basement bathroom serves as an excellent example. It's about 18 feet away from my desk, and as long as the door is open, I can go in there while talking. While I'm in there, I'll start to break up a little, and if I shut the door, I'll completely break up. br>br>In terms of product quality (hardware), the charging base is my biggest concern. I'm referring to the rectangular plastic base on which you can charge your headset. This thing lasted EXACTLY ONE YEAR. It's a stationary object that doesn't move or travel. When I came in one day, my headset was completely broken. I discovered it was the base after some troubleshooting. Nothing worked after it flashed the red light three times. When I unplugged the base and plugged in my headset (pop out the little rubber bit on the earpiece to find the mini-jack), I realized what had happened. It came back on after a brief period of inactivity (usb jack). It was fully charged when I put it in the broken base, but it wouldn't work at all after that. It would not turn on, and there was no little voice saying "talk time, yadda yadda. " br>br>So, after a year, the charging base has failed, and I now have to charge it every night by plugging it directly into the earpiece. It's not the end of the world, but the charging base had a lid, which protected the earpiece and kept it dust-free while charging. It now simply sits on the desk, charging like a phone or any other device that requires a plug. br>br>And that, in a nutshell, is my opinion. Comparable products are now in the $35-$50 range. All of the same product specs and features are supported in the $50 range. I'm going to give one of those a try right now to see how it compares, but even if it only lasted half as long as this one (1 year), I'd still save $100 per year on replacement costs.
This headset is fantastic. I bought something else from a different seller and didn't get any of the items shown in the picture. I bought it on the spur of the moment. I'm glad I took the chance. The audio quality is outstanding. It worked perfectly when I wore it outside in the wind. I had no trouble hearing incoming calls. The battery lasts a long time. I had to recharge three days prior, and I wore it all day. The charging case in particular appeals to me. When not in use, it's nice to keep it in the house. I have a proclivity for misplacing items.
