How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

American Made Shaving Soap easily creates a rich lather that lubricates the razor for a slick, cushioned, and comfortable shave; unlike many shaving creams, foams, and gels, the lather lasts a long time.
Shea Butter is a popular addition among women because it leaves skin smooth and moisturized without being oily. Unlike many shaving soaps, creams, and gels, it won't dry out or irritate your skin.
Larger than most mug shave soaps, this one will last 3 to 6 months. It fits any size shaving mug after 20 seconds in the microwave! Minimal (almost non-existent) light scent that is both fresh and un-artificial. It appears to be a hit with the ladies!
This shaving soap is superior to other shaving soaps. It's made with only natural ingredients, has no artificial colors or fragrances, and nothing you can't pronounce!

Questions & Answers

How big is it?

The appropriate size is 1. 375" x 2. 5" (1 3/8" x 2 1/2") by 5" (1 3/8" x 2 1/2") br>Melt it for any size or shape bowl in 20 seconds in the microwave. br>John Boshoff is a writer who lives in the United Kingdom. br>Henry Cavendish Shaving Products are created by Loretta Green LLC.

I requested shea butter with coconut, but instead received shea butter with soy. There is a typo in the description of the heading page. Where can you find shea/coconut?

It's a very small amount because Coconut Oil is the second ingredient, Shea Butter is the third to last ingredient, and Soy is the last ingredient before the fragrance.

Is this soap supposed to be warmed?

I don't. Before lathering it up, the seller recommended adding a few drops of hot water, but I don't think that's necessary. I've read that if you use a shaving scuttle with a spot for hot water below the soap, you should warm it with very hot water for a few minutes before lathering, and I've tried it a few times, but time is often of the essence.

What is the location of this production?

Sorry. At this point, I'm not sure. I tossed the box in the trash. Wherever it was made, it was a lovely bar of soap:

Meh
3/5

Because all of the reviews were positive, I decided to buy this soap. After a few months of use, I can definitively say, "Meh. " I'm not a fan of what I've seen so far. br>br>I've worked with a few different soaps in the past ("Phoenix Godolier" and "RazoRock Don Donato"), and the Henry Cavendish was the most difficult to work with. It's extremely difficult for me to get a thick lather. I spent the first month gradually increasing the amount of water in each shave until I finally decided to get my bush really wet and try to get as much soap on it as possible. Even so, it's difficult to work up a thick lather, and I end up dumping a lot of it down the sink after each shave. I tried skipping the mug and just applying to my face, but the brush got cold and the lather got worse. br>br>Once it's on my face, the shave is fairly smooth, but not as smooth as some of the other soaps I've tried. The scent is pleasant and subtle, but not particularly memorable. br>br>It isn't something I despise, but it is something I dislike. And, to be honest, I'm not sure why everyone who's tried it raves about it. It's possible that I'm doing something incorrectly. Or maybe my water (Philadelphia City Water) is too hard. All I'm saying is that if you're looking for a great soap, you should look elsewhere.

I don't get a slick shave like I would with gel shaving cream or any other type of shaving cream
4/5

This is one of the most unusual shaving soaps I've ever come across. First and foremost, I must state that I use a standard(modern) razor. My perspective may be skewed toward those who use safety razors. br>br>This soap gives me mixed feelings. The main reason for this is that there is less soap and more lotion. If you've ever had a massage with oil versus a massage with lotion, you know how different they feel. Oil is slicker, and while lotion lubricates, it drags on the skin a little. To be honest, I don't get the same slick shave with this soap as I do with gel shaving cream or any other soap I've tried. This soap also clogs up my razor, which I discovered. I'm using a modern 5-blade razor once more. br>br>On the plus side, it does leave your skin feeling very soft. It also provides a closer shave, something I never expected to say about a shaving soap. My neck, in particular, is prone to having a 5 o'clock shadow, even right after shaving. It now matches the rest of my face in terms of cleanliness. br>br> If you don't mind a little drag in your shave, this soap is a great choice. This soap can also be melted into your cup without causing harm.

It'll do for now
3/5

Based on the reviews, I really wanted to like this product, but I just couldn't. After using this product almost every day for a month, I am unable to recommend it to anyone. Advantages: br>br> br>It has an incredible scent. It's not a particularly masculine scent; rather, it's a pleasant clean scent with a hint of cologne. br>It's a very simple lather to make. br>It'll last you a long time. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>Despite the fact that it lathers well, there isn't enough slickness or protection. After you've shaved a spot, I wouldn't go over it again because whatever you're using will stick to your skin and won't glide over it. br>It will last you a long time; however, I'm afraid this is one of those soaps that I may store because I don't love it; I like it, but I don't want to use it all of the time. br>The price; for about the same price, I will probably buy and have bought something else. br>br>It's all about the lather with this soap. It lathers well, but as I previously stated, there is no protection; the blade does not glide over smoothly, and I can feel it after several passes (I don't use much pressure behind my DE; I've also tried it with a shavette, which worked fine). When loading my badger, I've tried it with more soap, less soap, different amounts of water, and I always let it bloom when I shower for my pre-shower ritual. I'm shaving, and either I'm doing something wrong or the soap is just average. br>br>I know a lot of people rave about this soap, but I couldn't get it to work for me. It isn't bad, but it isn't outstanding. Because this is my first Henry Cavendish soap, I'm disappointed that I won't be purchasing any more because this one didn't entice me to use it again and again. I'll probably continue to use the soap, but it's not my preferred soap.

Before you decide that this item is too expensive, read this review! This shaving soap has exceeded my expectations
5/5

I was hesitant to buy this at first because I knew my cousin buys his shaving soap for $3 at Walgreens, but I decided to take a chance because I have sensitive skin (especially on my neck) and I wanted to give this a try because I didn't like the soap my cousin has. br>br>In my opinion, the price of this soap is well worth it. It's a lot thicker than the only one you can get for cheap, so it's a little better value, but more importantly, it feels a lot better. While lathering on your face, the cheaper soaps almost feel as if they are suffocating your pores. This soap has a very soothing effect on the skin and actually softens it. If you've ever cut yourself with a straight razor (almost any beginner knows how this feels), the shaving soap gets into the cut and causes a sting. With this soap, this is not the case. The difference between this product and others has pleasantly surprised me. In the future, I will purchase this.
