Selected User Reviews For Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap 2.25 Ounce (Pack of 3)
Colonel Conk soap is my preferred brand over others because it is glycerin-based, and glycerin-based soap produces a nice dense slick lather. As a result, your razor glides more smoothly, giving you a closer, more comfortable shave, and the lather doesn't dry out on your face. One cake lasts me at least a month of shaves, and I prefer the amber scent, which is mild and masculine. Because a glycerin cake is somewhat hard, a boar brush works best with this soap. The stiff boar bristles work well to develop a lather of the perfect consistency. This soap goes well with the Colonel Conk boar brush.
On my sensitive skin, this soap works wonders. There isn't much of a scent to be found, but what there is is so light and pleasant that you won't want to reach for anything else. I usually lather my face first, shave, then lather my neck and shave again because it lathers well and stays wet for a reasonable amount of time. In just a few swipes with a good razor, beard hairs and stubble give way to soft and smooth skin when you use a warmed cup and hot water. It lubricates well, and my safety razor glides effortlessly through my 3-inch thick beard. When using this shave soap, I was able to get 4 days of stubble growth with relative ease. br>br>If you have sensitive skin or an easily irritated sense of smell, I highly recommend this soap to all wet shavers who have the same problems as me. You will not be disappointed, especially given the low cost and high quality that Col. Conk is a company that puts a lot of effort into their goods. Remember that a little goes a long way with this soap, so it should last you a long time.
The amber scent (light but pleasant and clean) was one of my favorites from the pack. I originally purchased the sampler 4-pack. The amber scent (light but pleasant and clean) was one of my favorites from the pack. I bought the amber three-pack that was featured in this article. The soap does not appear to lather as well as the one I received in the sample pack, and it has no scent. I'm not sure whether or not I got a bad batch. Overall, it does the job; however, the lack of scent is disappointing.
fifteen years) It's been 15 years since I've had to purchase disposable razes or straps. Here's your chance to save money on a straight razer. br>Just keep in mind to shave up and down, never sideways, ouch).
This is my third attempt at a scent. I like the variety in their line, and I'd order them all again. br>It takes about 15 seconds in the microwave to shape it into any cup or bowl. It has a good lather. For a few minutes, I poured boiling water over it. (While I'm in the shower)br>My safety razor glides across my skin.
After hearing so many good things about this product, I decided to buy some and try it out. To be honest, it's just fine. It doesn't lather up well, has a light scent (which is fine but doesn't make you say, "I like that smell"), and doesn't lubricate the skin well enough for a close shave. I've also used the Art of Shaving lavendar shaving cream, which doesn't lather up well but has far more lubrication for your face and smells great. Although it is more expensive, a small amount goes a long way. Unless I can find a better-priced and more effective soap, I'll stick with AOS.
Amber is without a doubt one of my favorite scents.
Using a shaving brush, lather up thoroughly.
