This is a toy that we absolutely adore. It's easy to hold, has a nice rattle sound, and the little rattles are spaced unevenly so it moves oddly as it slows down (making it more interesting to watch). My baby has loved toys like this since he was four months old, despite the fact that we have only recently purchased our own. He enjoys walking (with my assistance) and kicking the ball around at the age of 11 months. This is one of a few toys that I would recommend to parents for their 0-year-old children. 1 year old (and most likely older than that - Personally, I haven't made it there yet).
You can attach it to a stroller or a play structure with the chain links! A wonderful toy for babies!.
I don't think this is more than a buck or two. I can't attest to durability because I haven't actually tested it out; it's a Christmas gift, so it's not even worth the hassle of returning it, let alone the time and effort of purchasing it because of its size.
I bought it for my son, but he hasn't arrived yet, so I'm not sure if it works for teething. I just wanted him to have a light weight toy small enough to fit in his baby bag to keep him entertained when I have him and we're stuck at the doctor's office. I'm sure the sound of the little balls rattling around will catch his attention. If this works out for him, I'll get him the red one as well.
She gets irritated because she can't put it in her mouth to chew on, but I never expected her to be able to bite into it.
This was purchased as a gift for a friend's new baby. When I was pregnant with my son, I bought the same one. It was simple for him to grasp, durable, and he enjoyed shaking it. We were able to roll it back and forth between us as my son grew older, and he could grab it while it was still moving. It's a hit with my friend's newborn.
I buy a lot of toys for my baby (probably more than I should!). She has this ball as well as one that isn't equipped with a rattle. This is one of her favorite items. She enjoys gripping them and, as she has gotten older, she has begun to play "mommy fetch," throwing them across the room for me to retrieve. I also like that they are durable and not too heavy (many of the baby toys I receive are too heavy, and she whacks herself in the head with them, which isn't fun). Because this one isn't too difficult, she doesn't seem to mind if she hits herself in the face.
It was originally purchased to assist our daughter, but it now keeps my four-month-old entertained with her hands. It's simple for her to grasp and hold on to, and it provides entertainment for the two-year-old I'm watching. This ball is fantastic for babies and children!.
