I live in the Adirondacks of New York State, where winters can be brutal. We're prone to 20-inch snowfalls in a single day, and the plows can't always keep up! As a result, having a good snow tire to assist you is essential. I've always preferred Firestone Winterforce tires, but for my 2020 Kia Sorento AWD, I decided to take a chance and go with these bad boys. I had them mounted at our local Mavis, which was also a service I wasn't sure about. br>br>It's me, br>br>It's me, br WAS. NOT. I WAS DISAPPOINTED. First and foremost, the ability to send the tires directly to the tire shop is a fantastic deal. I paid $15 for each tire to be mounted and balanced. Amazon, I believe that is a fantastic addition! Now it's time to talk about the tires: They not only handle well on dry roads, but they also glide through slush like it's nothing. We just had our first "snowstorm" of the season, with 20 inches of accumulation, and my car handled the snow so well that it felt like I was driving on dry pavement. They have excellent grip when transitioning from a complete stop to acceleration, and they are also extremely quiet! br>br>As much as I loved my Firestones, I have to admit, these are much better so far in terms of price, quality, and ride. I'll keep you updated if anything changes, but so far, they've been great after two significant snowfalls (and the resulting slush/ice). My husband is a little envious of what I'm doing. He had his usual snows installed on his Nissan Frontier, but now he thinks he'll go with my Sumitomo's next year because they work so well on my vehicle.
