driver. Except for one, I despised every other purchase I made.
When the lows outside started consistently falling below freezing, I swapped out my summer tires for these winter Michelins on my '15 Mustang GT, and I immediately noticed that the cornering and steering response weren't as good as summer tires, but that's to be expected. It's not as bad as some of the other winter tires I've had on previous vehicles. br>br>We've had a lot of 1-foot snowfalls. 3" at a time, but never enough to cover the ground. I can say that regardless of whether you're on a hill or not, these perform admirably in light snow. I can begin at any point and drive straight up the hill. These tires only slide when I want them to, such as when I press harder on the gas pedal than is necessary or when I disable traction control (which I do frequently) to have some fun while driving around. Driving with winter tires provides a great sense of security. The majority of the other traffic is moving at a constant speed. They have winter tires and are afraid of slight downward hills, whereas I drive at the speed limit and avoid them all. They stop almost as if it's dry out while using low to moderate braking pressure, so you don't have to be concerned about stopping. Only when you use heavy braking does ABS kick in, and the tires still stop you quickly. br>br>The only time I didn't feel safe out driving this winter was when we had a lot of ice recently. The entire road was covered in about 1/4" of ice, and no matter what kind of tire you have, trying to get up a hill in the ice is impossible. On a flat surface, these work fine at accelerating slowly and getting you where you need to go, even on ice. br>br>I drove from Omaha, NE to Panama City, FL for Christmas, and I was glad I had these on for that drive. I drove through the St. Louis area in heavy snowfall with a solid 2" of snow on the interstate. br>br>I drove from Omaha, NE to Panama City, FL for Christmas, and I was glad I had these While others were concerned about their tires, I was able to stay within the speed limit. br>br>These winter tires did an excellent job of converting my summer vehicle into a year-round vehicle. a regular commuter These Michelin-starred restaurants will not let you down!.
