Questions & Answers

I'm currently stranded on a trail, so does this already include gas?

It is, without a doubt, brimming with gas.
Nitrogen — 78 %, Oxygen — 21 %, Argon — 0
Nitrogen — 0
Nitrogen — 0 %, Oxygen ?% Carbon dioxide — 0, Carbon dioxide — 0, Carbon dioxide ?% br>Neon, helium, methane, krypton, and hydrogen, as well as water vapor, in trace amounts.

What are the measurements of a one gallon container?

14" X 9" X 3" is the size of the one-gallon container. The container's best feature is that it never, ever leaks while you're hiking.

Is there a mount included?

The mounts must be purchased individually. They offer a variety of options. These items are unbreakable and extremely useful. It's always a good idea to have a little extra gas on hand.

When gas fumes are stored in the trunk, does it smell like gas?

I have a two-gallon and a one-gallon gas tank, and neither produces any gas fumes.

When the pinhole was first made, it immediately leaked
3/5

I've heard that some of the new Rotopax products are of poor quality, and this confirms it. It had fuel in it for less than 24 hours when, about 3/4 of the way up, fuel began to leak out of a small pin hole in the side seam and onto the leather seat of my motorcycle. If I hadn't noticed it before starting my 1500-mile journey, it could have been a fire hazard. br>I have a two gallon that is a few years old and is as sturdy as an oak tree, but this new one gallon appears to be very thin, the seams are not of good quality, they are jagged and rough, and it is definitely of poor quality now. Although the label says Rotopax USA, the quality of this product makes me doubt it.

ANXIETY ABOUT FUEL IS GONE
5/5

My Honda CTX700 achieves a fuel economy of around 60 miles per gallon. It has a tank that is only about 3 gallons (US gallons). Longer rides necessitate the use of a fuel-efficient vehicle. Around 130 miles (gas stations are few and far between in the southwest), anxiety would begin to set in. This RotopaX "tank" with a capacity of 1 gallon is lightweight and portable. For a motorcycle, it's the ideal size and shape. The flexible filler spout (self-closing) is included. br>br>Now I can ride 175 miles at a time with complete peace of mind, both on the road and when filling the bike. br>br> With the additional gallon on board, the total range should be around 225 miles.

The spout/cap has been removed
3/5

This system's concept appeals to me. Because of the locking system, I still use it to transport gas on my motorcycle. It's fantastic for that. br>br>The cap and spout have never been reliable for me. br>br>Spout, br>br>Spout, br>br>Spout, The one that comes with it, to be precise. When the mood strikes, it can work. When I'm doing the same thing, I don't understand why it works or doesn't work. Tip it up and down all around while fiddling with the collar lock. As I pour, rage rips it off and spills gas. So, go out and buy a spout that isn't too fancy. Because there are no parts, this works. But. br>br>Cap spout that leaks. When the stock spout and cap are closed, they occasionally leak, requiring extra caution and inspection, but they usually seal properly. I dislike having to double-check whether I'm refueling quickly. The spout, however, is broken. The minimalistic replacement spout pours well, but the cap does not seal well for storage/transport, and there have been leaks with both while pouring. So you're carrying two spouts, both of which aren't great? Thank you for your help, rotopax. br>br>I'm hoping I just got a dud, but I doubt it; everything appears to be in good working order. Please resend it to me.

These gas cans are pricey, but they're so worth it
5/5

I was skeptical at first, but I'm impressed by how strong they are and, more importantly, how well they secure themselves in place. A couple of them are tethered to a camping trailer that I own. They're only there as a backup in case I run out of gas in between stations on a long road trip. I've come dangerously close to running out of gas too many times. br>br>In terms of cost, I feel a little silly spending around $130 on cans, mounts, and other accessories, but they're high-quality and I should have them for a long time. I'll take these with me if I sell my trailer because they can be mounted just about anywhere. br>br>Just in case you didn't know - The new CARB spouts come standard on all gas cans intended to hold gas (red cans), as evidenced by numerous customer complaints. I would recommend getting either the water jug spout or the flexible vented spout because they pour slowly and can spill more gas than they were designed to protect against. They are available for purchase separately. When pouring gas, these spouts are a little more predictable, which means less gas is spilled. However, keep an eye on your vehicle's capacity to avoid overfilling! As a result, the CARB regulations were enacted with a specific goal in mind. (Good intentions, poor execution)br>br>I decided not to get the locks. There were far too many reports of them sticking. I'm sure it's only a few people who have this problem, but God forbid the one time I need extra gas is also the one time I can't get the lock to open. My cans are outside my trailer, so they're exposed to rain, dust, dirt, and other elements, and the locks aren't covered (a future design idea they should consider). I'm sure that's a contributing factor to their issue. I simply used a cable lock system, running it through the handles and securing it to the trailer with a padlock and u-bolts. I was more concerned about someone simply stealing the can rather than the gas. They can have the gas if they truly require it; however, they will not be able to take the can! I wanted to avoid the type of thievery where the victim is grabbed and flees. So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly.

Rotopax is a difficult product to use
4/5

The eco spout, which is spring-loaded, is completely useless. I used the fuel in the rotopax on a recent motorcycle trip. The spout was attempted to pour by a total of seven people. Finally, the gas had to be poured into the tank directly. The rotopax container itself is fantastic and holds the fuel perfectly, but the spout that comes with it is a complete waste of time. Replacement spouts are available for a reasonable price.

On adventures, you'll have a lot of peace of mind
5/5

It's nice to know I have this little guy with me when I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, caked in mud and grime and miles from a gas station. br>br>It has a super thick feel to it and is made of high-quality materials. Gas stations are also convenient for filling up. br>br>I've been putting off getting this because of the cost, but the peace of mind it provides is well worth it; I should have done so sooner. br>br>While I have yet to purchase the specific mounting point, I was able to secure it to the bike using two bungie cords. br>br>Highly recommended if you're traveling in the middle of nowhere and don't have access to gas.

tanks are fantastic - However, after 2 - 3 stitches, the thread end will bind the cap
5/5

3 years. These are great for when you need a little extra gas while riding your motorcycle. They fit perfectly in the side bags of my Honda Goldwing, and I've had a lot of use out of them. The only disadvantage is that the filler neck plastic will swell over time (a couple of years) due to the gas, making it difficult to screw on and off the nozzle/cap. Every 2- After three years, I finally got a new tank to replace the old one, which had a difficult time getting the cap on and off.

This is an EXTREMELY PRICED item
5/5

QUESTION: What would you be willing to pay for a gallon of gas if you were stranded in the middle of nowhere and needed it? ANSWER: He could have whatever he desired. It's the price of this Rotopax 1 gallon fuel container (along with the mount) in my case. It has surpassed the $100 mark. 00 mark. The shipping container is made in the United States and is extremely durable. If you're on a tight budget, the Chinese knockoffs may be a better, less expensive option than Rotopax.
