It's falling apart, so don't buy it because Northern Tool won't stand behind it. The flange that holds the pump to the tank was ripping away from the tank this week, and I discovered it. Because I'm only a part-time farmer, this tank hasn't seen much use, and neither has the truck it's mounted on. The flange appears to have torn away from the tank due to the weight of the pump assembly alone, rather than the weld. Water contaminated 70 gallons of diesel, which leaked throughout the truck bed. I was given a one-year warranty, so I am now on my second year. After 5 months, Northern Tool said, "Too bad," and offered no refund, replacement, or compensation. br>br>I will never buy from Northern Tool again, and I will not purchase an RDS tank because it is not worth the money. After a little more than a year of light use, they fail. Very let down.
One of the tabs was bent during shipping, as other reviewers have mentioned. I don't think it has an impact on the tank's integrity. To mount the tank, it came with mounting bolts, a spring, and a roll of rubber. I bought a full length of belting to go between the tank and the bed. Overall, a good product. br>I installed the tank and had no problems.
The welds are terrible, even the DOT plaque is welded incorrectly, and the tank is leaking! I'm not going to buy it, and I'm not going to recommend it to anyone.
I've been using gravity feed with an electric valve for nearly two years now, and it's a fantastic product. 20,000 gallons or more are required. This tank hasn't had any problems.
The gravity feed drain was far too small and took an excessive amount of time to fill.
The tank is very attractive. It beats lugging my old farm tank around. Now I'll be able to see out the back window of my house. However, the holes could be drilled in the mounting tabs.
