If the tank is perfectly level, you should be able to get more than 5 gallons out of it, but not much less than 3. It isn't all bad to leave 3 or so. You're also leaving any heavy sediments that have built up in the tank over time; when I was a kid growing up on a farm, we always set our tanks with a slight tilt away from the removal drop pipe.
The hose measures 3/4" in diameter.
It measures approximately 8' in length.
It functions as a gas dispenser. br>br>On the other hand, you should be cautious because the diesel is frequently sprayed as an aerosol by the pump. With gas's increased volatility over diesel, putting gas in the tank could be quite risky. br>br>I discovered that if the tank is kept full, the pump will pump straight fluid. This 55 gallon setup is EXACTLY what I'm looking for! Because it comes fully assembled (except for the battery or power source), this unit is superior in many ways. I was able to open the box on my own and lift it into my lifted F350. I had 20 gallons of diesel in cans, so I poured them into this tank, hooked up an external marine battery, and turned on the pump and - In order to test it out and make sure it works, pump the fuel or circulate the fuel back into its own tank. AND DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK? This machine is a dream to use! It's quick, and it can be taken out of the truck bed and stored when it's empty or nearly empty. The majority of the other tanks are permanently installed, and there are wires running throughout the facility. That was not something I wished for. I did purchase an external fuel filter for it, but I have yet to connect everything. But there is one point to keep in mind. While filling or pumping out fuel, be sure to VENT THE CAP. If you don't, it'll suffocate you from the sides. Lol. The unit is well-made and appears to be of high quality; it's made in Italy, so I'm guessing it's the Ferrari of fuel filling tanks. The nozzle's handle and hose are both genuine "gas station" nozzles. In addition, the fittings are swivel. On top of the electric pump is an on/off switch, and the tank's fuel cap is BILLET ALUMINUM! Awesome! A cutoff selector valve is also included in the hose assembly, which is located where the hose exits the pump. Also, the pump nozzle can be locked, and the lid's latches have lockable holes. I would strongly advise my friends to buy this product. It's a cinch to use.
On Amazon, I discovered three different versions of this polly tank. I scrutinized the different brands' descriptions and images carefully. The color, lid, and latches on this model appeared to be different from the $799 model, as did the threaded fuel hose. I was concerned because the cheaper model's review stated that it only held about 40 gallons, rather than the rated capacity, which was nearly the same as this one. br>When it arrived, I discovered that it was not as pictured and that the lid, latches, and clamp hose fittings were nearly identical to those on the cheaper model. It had to be the same, I assumed. I was on the verge of returning it when I realized I'd made a mistake I decided to give it a shot because I had nothing to lose. I expected it to be smaller, but it held nearly the entire 55 gallon capacity. It made a difference for me to have the full capacity. I went ahead and ordered the fittings and fuel filter, and I haven't looked back since. The pump is now powered by a small lipo motorcycle battery, which works perfectly. So far, everything has gone well.
It fits perfectly in the back of my trailer or in the back of my track. I can move it with my forks once it's full, which is a plus. Many steel and aluminum tanks lack a built-in mechanism for moving them when they are full. Fuel foaming was discussed in a review I read. Yes, it foams a lot, but I added a filter to the hose and that helped a lot with the foaming. The foaming problem, I believe, is simply a result of the fuel grade we've been given. It shut off without a hitch and fills my tractor to capacity. There will be no more spilled fuel while standing on a stool!.
For several years, I've used diesel lawn care equipment. Having to transport multiple five gallon cans back and forth from the gas station has always been inconvenient. This arrived on time, and it's a fantastic product. It is much faster than a gas station pump in pumping fuel. Needless to say, refueling my equipment is now a breeze; you don't have to lift those heavy fuel cans above your shoulders, and you don't end up splattering fuel all over yourself. It has plenty of room for 55 gallons. However, they recommend that you stop there to allow for expansion during the hot summer months. Was it costly? I suppose that depends on your perspective, but it was well worth the money for me. A decade ago, I wished I had one.
They overlooked a crucial component of the puzzle. A unit that protects your diesel engine from contaminants such as water. Yes, I'm installing a filter system, but when I called JohnDow to ask for a filter recommendation, they had no idea what I was talking about. JohnDow, wake up!.
This is absolutely incredible. It has a capacity of 55 gallons and can pump diesel quickly. The money was well spent. It's light enough for me to lift into and out of the back of my 2021 Ram 3500 by myself when it's empty. If you don't want a permanent tank in your bed but still need to transport 55 gallons, this is the way to go.
This unit appeals to me on all levels. Pumps incredibly quickly, and the automatic shutoff function is excellent. To power it, I use a battery booster unit, which works well. The only thing I'd like to see added is a "sight window" that shows how much fuel is left in the tank.
When it's empty, it's simple to move and store, and it's a breeze to fill up my tractor (no more lifting all those heavy gas cans). When my truck's tank is full, I like that I can move it with my skid loader to make room in the back. br>This fuel tank comes highly recommended by me.
