As of now, it only gives the psi in each cylinder I don't think the leakdown test can be performed with it.
I believe it will work with any small engine. You should however get a more durable gauge set than this. There was so much wrong with this one that I had to toss
This is not a device designed to test oil pressure. It is intended to measure air pressure only
This shouldn't be a problem. Whenever they are hot, small engines need at least 90 pounds per square inch (PSI) of compression and when they are cold, at least 100 PSI. A drop in compression will be evident if there is a leak in the engine.

On Mercruiser 3, the 4th cylinder was checked during the first compression test. I blew out the hose at 150 pounds per square inch+- A connection to adapters should be made at this point. The 300psi indicated means I am not confident this product can withstand it. Purchasing products with individual hoses with attached adapters would be preferable as this product separates from the attached adapter when you remove it after testing. You will have to fish out the adapter once you remove the product from the testing chamber. A Mercruiser 3 was not large enough for all the people. With a socket, it would take a long time to remove the engine, and it would require needle nose pliers to retrieve the.
As part of the kit, the rubber nipple from one of the test parts had been ripped off. A lot of force was exerted on the tip when the part was assembled, causing it to split off as a result. I realize that this is an extremely cheap kit, but at least do not destroy all of the parts as you make them. I just wanted to let you know that the gauge has a check valve, so it will show the maximum PSI measured by the gauge until the pressure stored by the button is released. A gasket leak test will still rely on compression pressure to determine where the maximum pressure is, but it will not be effective for figuring out the maximum pressure at a spark plug during compression (or practically.
I've had it for a few months now. At work, I leave it there and use it every day. Easy to use, so I can do my job more efficiently. This was a much better deal than the one I bought four years ago for over $100 at a part store and it had a lot of issues. I found this one to be much cheaper and of much better quality than my previous one. I would rate this product 10/10 on a scale of 1-10.
I looked at all of the components closely and critically as soon as I opened the package. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and felt much higher quality than I expected especially after reading As you can see, I have already tested the kit on a quad engine suspected of having low compression (and it was fine). In my opinion, it is much better to give the customer actual numbers rather than tell them, "We're fairly certain, but we're just guessing that you have poor compression. " Although the spark plug hole was deep in a well, the kit's attachments made it possible to repeatably get a reading with a quick reading. It should be useful for us in a number of ways.
The tool wouldn't hold any pressure at all when used for the first time. It was difficult to remove the fitting from the pressure gauge because it fit poorly (tapped to a wrong size?) and had a coating of To fill the void left by the bad sealer, I cleaned off as much as I could of the old sealer, then wrapped the fitting with lots of teflon tape. Upon reassembling it, I was forced to back it off a few turns because the threads inside block the release valve if you thread it all the way. In spite of all that, the leak in the container is still present, but it appears to be manageable.
There is a low pressure reading of 55 psi on the gauge. A craftsman and Lisle offer more consistent prices, but the craftsman is the lowest of the two. For just a few dollars more, I replaced it with a Lisle model. As long as you do not care about the exact number and just want to find out whether there are any differences between cylinders, this approach The hose is made of very cheap and weak rubber, and I couldn't imagine it to hold up for long. My ultimate goal was to create a gauge that measured what it is meant to measure That's why I wasn't a fan of this one.
This flaw can be seen in the pictures. The text does not make sense. If you use the rubber hose that connects to the gauge with the brass end, there is a leak at the connection that results I gained more pressure when I switched to the all aluminum tube with rubber tip. As a result of my further investigation, I found that the aluminum tubing end that connects to the gauge is slightly longer than the rubber hose that connects to the gauge through the brass fitting, which makes It is apparent on the picture how much shorter the brass fitting is compared to the aluminum flange.
I've expected it to work. My dealership actually fixed my STI after I bought it to test the EJ257 compression. The information given to me means I no longer need to bother them about it. It was hard to get my car to Subaru because I had low compression in one cylinder. This tester was the perfect price for getting compression readings and actually getting my motor replaced. Before then, the dealership claimed that there were no code errors and that the motor was functioning normally. However, this tester showed me that one cylinder was having a problem and that the rings on one cylinder were damaged.
