Questions & Answers

I'm looking for more smoke fluid for this machine, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. ?

OEM Approved Smoke Fluid Refill can be found on our official website. You can also use USP mineral oil or baby oil as an alternative. Please keep in mind that AutoLine Pro's OEM Approved Smoke Fluid outperformed all other vapor/smoke fluids in factory tests for contaminant-free vapor/smoke production.

Is there a service port adapter adaptor connector kit with a valve removal tool included?

The EVAP Service Port Adapter tools are not included in this kit.

Is a flow meter available for this application? What would be the location of its installation?

I doubt it, but you can buy/maguyver from eBay sellers. Look up the term "flow meter" in the dictionary.

I bought one in January and it hasn't smoked since then. I'm not sure how I'm going to replace it. ?

It's most likely the heater coil if the oil level is correct, the power supply (battery) is sufficient, and there are no obstructions in the hose. I'd double-check it (continuity) and, if it's defective, either contact the supplier for a replacement or request a return authorization and return it for a replacement.

BUY THIS
5/5

I'm serious. I'm not a mechanic, so don't expect me to help you with your car. That was quickly confirmed by this smoke machine. On my 302, I had a vacuum leak that I couldn't find after reassembling the upper/lower intake manifold. I ordered this smoke machine after taking it apart twice, screaming some choice words that my wife is always fond of, and throwing tools across the shop. I hooked it up and discovered that I didn't have a vacuum "leak," I had a vacuum hurricane. So I gave up and read the manual, figuring out the proper torque specs and putting it back together properly. The smoke machine was reconnected, and the angels began to sing again. If you're frustrated, yelling at your wife, or throwing things you'll later regret, do yourself a favor and buy this, or borrow mine, or find one somewhere. (That will make sense once you have your smoke machine and your stress level has decreased. ).

I'm glad I chose this one after considering a few others
5/5

I don't usually give 5 stars, but I'm blown away. I was torn between the Stinger and the SmokeTek units (due to Redline's ridiculous $1k price tag for this type of smoke machine: rolleyes: I emailed Stinger with a question about their product, but they didn't even bother to respond. Then I came across this one, and I really liked how it was put together, plus the anodized Red color makes this type of smoke machine seem less redneck, lol. This one has a ceramic wick, so it's supposed to last a lifetime, and I can confirm that if you follow the instructions, it produces a lot of smoke. I requested that the seller send me a soft copy of the manual, and I've attached some of it here in case the printed manuals are lost - The seller, by the way, is very responsive and knowledgeable.

This was an outstanding performance
5/5

I was glad to be in Cali the next day after shipping the same day. The instructions were simple to follow, and the smoke produced quickly. The build quality is excellent, and it produces far more smoke than I anticipated or required. The intake boot was filled with smoke in less than a minute after using their cone adapter. It's simple to break out and store, but it might smell. If anything changes, I'll let you know.

Simple to work with
5/5

You'll need an air compressor for this. The AutoLine Pro EVAP Vacuum Automotive Smoke Machine Leak Detector Diagnostic Tester (machine) is what I bought. My car was having trouble starting, and I had a code reader that said there was too much air in the gas mixture. I go through the hoses looking for a leak in the vane. I could take the vehicle to a mechanic for $100 (possibly more) or I could diagnose the problem myself with the smoke machine for a little more and hope it was a hose that I overlooked and bought it. br>I had no problems with the machine, but I did read the brief setup instructions carefully because incorrect use could cause damage. Do not leave the machine running for more than 10 minutes, as stated in the instructions. It can get quite warm. However, it took me less than three minutes to find the trouble spots. I had no idea (probably stated somewhere in the advertising) that I would need an air compressor, but I already have one, so it was no problem. Although the instructions state that you can go up to 100 psi, you only need to go to about 20 psi. 30psi. Although I am not a mechanic, I do not believe you should go much higher than 30 psi. I was able to pinpoint two potential sources of trouble. The first will take some time to repair, but the second (the EGR valve) is a simple component. I saved a lot of money by diagnosing and replacing the EGR valve on my own.

Excellent value for money
5/5

This is an outstanding piece of equipment. It's well-built and simple to operate. It produced a lot of smoke while maintaining a constant PSI. I've been on the lookout for a vacuum leak in my truck, based on computer data. Because it was inexpensive and had good reviews, I gave in and purchased this unit. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality for the price, and I discovered no leaks after smoking my truck. I figured the unit wasn't putting out enough smoke, so I opened a line on the other end of the system, which blew a lot of smoke. I re-sealed it, checked it, and determined that the engine had no vac leaks at all. A bad injector turned out to be the source of the issue. br>br>So this little thing saved me hours of installing unnecessary gaskets while also demonstrating that the entire system is much tighter than I thought. After that, I smoked another truck that was running fine but was leaking smoke in several places, much to my surprise. br>br>It was well worth the money to buy this smoker. The customer service at Autoline was fantastic. Don't think twice about purchasing one of these from these guys; it's the best deal you'll find for a smoker.

There is no longer a code P0442
5/5

This is one of my more recent purchases. I bit the bullet and bought this machine after a month of fighting with a vehicle that had an intermittent P0442 code. While not as flashy as the more expensive smokers I used during my dealership service tech days, this machine provides more than enough smoke to properly test a car's EVAP system. I followed the directions and discovered a nicked o-ring. In less than five minutes, you can ring on one of the quick connect lines. It's pretty cool to have a tool that pays for itself right away. br>br>On a related note, don't listen to those who complain about the smell of the smoke produced by this machine; mineral oil does emit an odor when heated to temperatures high enough to produce vapors. The odor is pleasant and similar to that of well-known smoke machines. You won't need to vent your garage for a week after using this unit, nor will you need to light a candle to mask the odor.

It was well worth the money
5/5

Without it, I'm not sure how I managed to get anything done. I wanted to play with it as soon as I got it, so I filled it up, plugged it in, and hooked it up to the manifold vacuum port of my shop minivan, which runs well but occasionally has a minor idle problem that doesn't warrant a repair. The nozzle began to blow serious smoke after a slow build-up. My egr valve began to emit smoke almost immediately after connecting to the manifold! I was completely unaware that my diaphragm had been damaged.

Smoke is fantastic
5/5

This was purchased to put my son's and grandson's trucks through their paces. My grandson put the unit to the test, and it produces plenty of smoke to detect leaks. There were none on the grandson's truck, and we're still waiting for the son's truck. The smoker performs admirably and is simple to operate. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. Amazon does not sell smoke refills, but it does have a larger selection of adapters for testing. I had to make do with what I had on hand for my vacuum tester.
