There's a T on the T There was no way to insert the thrust bolt assembly through the plate due to the handle being fixed on both ends. In order to remove the end of the T-bar, I used a 1/4" drill Handle with care. I cannot understand how this manufacturing error could have It's possible I was extremely unlucky during my first use of the set or it was the case that many people gave up, not bothering to post a review. I was able to quickly use this set once I could use it as shown in the photograph. To fix my 2004 Maxima, I tried out different calipers until I found one compatible with it. The building quality is good for light work, and the carrying case is neat and easy to carry.

For my Jetta wagon, I bought this to replace the rear brake pads. Near the end of the pads' lifespan, they were worn to the point of imminent failure. I'm assuming the tool is built from relatively heavy materials so that softer materials can be used. I also assume this would avoid the need for heat treatment. case, the tool fit on one side just barely and didn't fit on the other side. The brakes would probably work fine if they weren't near the wear limit. The other issue was that it took a fair bit of torque to get the caliper rotating and the handle bent - which I was able to fix by bending the handle. As far as strength goes, I am not strong enough. Look for a tool with flats on the spindle so you can easily attach a wrench to it. I had to go through a bit of trial and error to find what face worked for my 2011 Ford Fusion, and the tool itself is a little tricky Also, you must keep your hand tight on the part that holds the tool on the caliper as you turn the handle to compress the piston in order to prevent the tool from falling out. A regular caliper compressor - which does not need to be turned back - would probably be more suitable for compressing calipers that don't need to be turned back. It worked well and turned the piston back easily in spite of all this. A big pair of needle nose pliers can be used to compress the piston, but I don't understand why people would do that when a $20 tool like this is available.

Having only used it once (for rear calipers on a R53 mini cooper), I would prefer not to continue using it. It took a little while to get the work done with the adapters because they weren't 100% perfect but they got the job done easier than spinning the piston Amazon offers this kit at a much better price over the HF kit, since the parts in the kit are just about identical.

The Ford Fusion of a friend of mine needed some repair work. I bought it to fix the problem. The tool worked well, but had a small downside -- the metal plate that was supposed to adjust it and hold it steady did not fit the caliper, so I had to apply quite a bit of pressure while winding the cylinder into the caliper. In the end, it did get done. Doing it like this slipped a couple of times, but it did get This set is fine for someone who is a DIYer, but for someone who works on vehicles regularly, I'd recommend investing in a better set.

I found this tool to be very useful. By pressing the pistons back into the calipers, it makes reinstalling them easier. My system worked as advertised once I did that, and pushed the piston back into place as it pushed in. It only happened on a 2014 Ford Escape, so I'm not sure what would happen on other vehicles.
