This brake tool is the best damn thing ever
5/5

This is great. I love it. The thing is a 10 out of 5 on a 1 to 5 scale. Each and every person I have ever met has gotten their brakes changed by me. No, I don't really do it but I do brake jobs for friends and family for free at least 15 times a year. This is the first time I have used this tool and I have never had such an easy time doing brakes before. It's a fact that I will order several more of these tonight as well. The one I already have has been broken so I wanted to get another. I've got so many different brake tools, but this one is by far the best. And the price is excellent for what you're As a result of the first one working so well, I now have 3 of them. My job as a brake mechanic from the last 34 years has never been fun. This is just what I did because of my desire to save money and help others do the same. The situation isn't made any easier for me even though I have the authority and all the tools to facilitate the task. No matter what reason I have, I never enjoyed doing it. Are you lazy? I don't know. As for now, I can't wait to do brakes again and I'm extremely excited about it. I don't need to use a large C clamp It is true that I also have other specialty tools, but no other instrument even comes close to this. It's obvious that there is a significant difference in quality between this tool and The heavy duty feature is a plus, too. This tool has just been used on my 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ with the Max Brake Package and it was easy to push the large, dual pistons into the rear brakes. I would have been able to easily push back those pistons with this tool with my 3 year old granddaughter. If you hold a caliper in one hand and do it with one, you can do it with just one hand. The day was flawless. There was not the slightest sign It was far too long since I changed my brake pads that my rotors were damaged and I should have changed the pads sooner. My problem with brakes was so bad that I disliked it so much. My pads had been sitting for almost a year waiting for the bad ones to come out. The only excuse I can offer is that I did not like doing brakes. In case there are any readers who think that I'm just a guy with very few tools who doesn't know what I'm talking about, I just included a picture of one of my socket drawers. In my spare time, I tinker with tools a lot. Tools worth thousands of dollars are just some of the tools I have.

Designing in the reverse direction
3/5

A small load is easily slowed by the brakes. It makes me wonder what the engineer who designed it was Could there be any advantage to putting the threaded flange behind the plate instead of on top? it is done in such a way that just rips you It broke the first time I tried to use it on a stubborn cylinder. It's true that I could put flange in front of the plate and still use this, but I do not understand why we shouldn't decide from the start not to brake at all. This tool would never break, or maybe that's the point? There is no complicated modification required, you should be able to complete it in 5 minutes.

All functions of the tool are as they should be
5/5

For a 2008 Camry, I bought these to replace the brake pads and rotors. Simple and effective, the tool does what it has to do. It is possible to use a C clamp to compress the breaks, but this tool does the same thing, and it can also be used in the event the C clamp cannot be fitted because it fits where brake pads should A simple tool, which makes use of one of the old pads, can be used to push in the caliper very easily. This would be a good item to have for somebody who works on their own brakes.

This is a functional and simple design
5/5

For the rear brake pads on my 2013 Audi S4, I used this to assist with the replacement. When the electronic parking brakes were retracted by using the Foxwell NT614 ODBII, the piston could easily be moved back to take the new brake pads into account. It is not necessary to use this tool, but it makes things.

The device works as intended, but it would be better with a larger knob or a socket head of 3/8" to 1/2"
4/5

It seemed to work well with my Golf GTI's brake It is actually very hard to get the piston to start if the piston is too far extended This will sometimes occur if the pads are past their prime. LOOKING BACK, I used a pair of groove joint pliers to get it started and through the first few revolutions - I was able to get the mechanism running. Despite our efforts, the knob remained hard. It was very frustrating! It would be wonderful if the knob was removable to reveal a 3/8" or 1/2" square socket With the head, it would be possible to use a ratchet or a wrench. As soon as you get it started, using the knob will be a breeze. Even though it is perhaps too much to ask at this price, I am glad I bought it nonetheless.

The clamp does a better job than a "C" In any car work, having the right tools can make the job easier and save you time
5/5

With this light and inexpensive tool, the caliper piston is pushed back, and your job is done! In the past, I have used a C clamp, but it is big, heavy, and hard to use. In this little tool, the same function as the C clamp is simply accomplished more quickly. A capris tool can be yours for a little more than a couple of premium coffees.

The fact that I have not had one of these before is unbelievable to me
5/5

The Heavy Duty model is the subject of this review. The C clamp was much easier to use than a single piston brake job I just had done. I am sure the dual piston setup will be a little more challenging with having to compress both pistons at the same time, but it shouldn't be more challenging than Despite the upside, the downside is The knob appears to be plastic, but I believe the socket head sticking out of the top of the knob is actually the top of the screw and is metal, whereas the bolt head looks like it is plastic, which to me threatens to strip out in a tough situation. In any case, if it does strip, you still have the option of using a socket head whereas you could not on another model. Even though it was literally just a matter of turning the knob and pressing the piston, I do not see that scenario ever taking place. In terms of its sturdiness, it is not as heavy as I thought it would be but it sure works well and it does not seem to have any In conclusion, I think it is a great addition to my toolkit and well worth the money I paid for it.

The brake calipers must be in good operating condition for this to work
4/5

Using this product on brake systems in normal operating condition is highly recommended. This tool was used on my latest brake job on a 2009 Nissan Frontier. The lower piston on the left side caliper would not retract. It was stuck in the deployed position. I thought I could force it back into the caliper using it. In order to collapse the frozen piston, I attempted to use this tool, but the product weld failed. IMPORTANT NOTE The reason I ordered a replacement even though it had failed is because it works in most situations and the ability to attach a drill to this tool makes compressing the piston(s).
