Questions & Answers

Could you tell me if this is ?

It was a 1/2 socket with a 1 1/2 drive. It worked very well!

Does anyone know if this socket works successfully for removing anode rods? It is a 30 gallon Whirlpool. I am planning to install an HWH which requires a Thanks a lot. ?

One and one sixteenth inch rods are used in all anodizing rods. Those are the only standards in the industry

This is different from camco 9951. What is the difference?

As the seller gives no clue, this is a very good question. Camco 09951 appears to be sold "bulk" or "loose," which means it has no packaging, so it must be meant for wholesalers or professional supply stores. The Camco part number for 09953 is "retail packaged" and is probably meant for retail sale on a pegboard hung nearby. Kind of odd they would assign two part numbers for the same item, and it seems like a hassle to keep track of inventory. In addition, they should note that even though it fits a 1/2 inch square drive socket wrench, the hex side measurement (which is 1 1/2 inches) is not mentioned.

How does it work with RV stabilizers?

Probabilities are not good. It is possible that manually driven stabilizers on travel trailers can vary a little in size, but I know that the 19mm sockets on two of my trailers work.

From now on, this is the ONLY element socket I will use
5/5

The standard stamped steel element socket has always been the one I have used to replace water heater elements since 1982 as a plumber. There were a few flaws with them, such as the fact that they didn't last very long. Eventually, after all these years, I came across a pair of elements that I was unable to remove even with the various methods I have tried. It was delivered to me on Sunday, and I had the customer's elements replaced by 8 I ordered this socket on Friday, received it on Sunday. He had been at his home for 15 minutes when he left at 00 Monday morning. With this socket, I found it to fit snugly onto the element nuts and, with my 1/2" drive 24" breaker wrench (I also had my impact wrench ready, but it wasn't necessary), I found it to be a cinch. A unique feature of this socket is that the points are machined in such a way that they can fit over a nut with the points rounded. An element has been seized and therefore cannot be removed due to previous unsuccessful attempts. The tool I own now could have been mys had I not waited so long to own it.

Taking out elements that are more than 20 years old
5/5

My own water heater elements were replaced by sharing my expertise online thanks to the assistance of other internet users. Fortunately, only one of the elements needed to be replaced, so I decided to replace the two if I had the time (the tank holds 80 gallons). The problem was that the old elements were stuck, and these new elements have a thin hex head, so any socket I put in them would simply fall out. I bought this socket hoping everything would work out fine, but it didn't work right away because the elements were stuck together like they had been welded in, and I could not stand with my full weight on the handle because the socket would just rotate away from I used an impact driver I've used in the past to drive screws into decking and other wood. As well as the adapter, it came with a 1/2" socket. As a result of putting pressure directly on the element along with the impact of the drill, loosening the elements slowly but easily was possible. The same thing can be done by using I didn't think it affected my success, but it did affect the way I viewed myself. Usually, when you look at a socket, you will see the hex cuts are a little further down inside the socket, usually at an angle to where the part of the socket opens. When the cut is made on a thin nut (like a water heater tank), it barely adheres to the solid surface (like a nut). Even though this socket boasts a slight amount of this angle, it isn't so significant that it can't be used with an impact wrench and driver.

REVIEWS CAN TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE! This is not the case as stated
3/5

It is a normal 1 1/2" socket, nothing special about it. If the socket slips off, you have no leverage over the sheet metal sockets. Although you can get more leverage using breaker bars and impact wrenches, what's the point if the socket falls off? In theory, you could have put this in a lathe and turned the socket flat, but what's the point of buying a cheap socket only to have to machine it? There are obviously no plumbers watching this 5 star review who have never dealt with fittings buried in the ground that barely fit a socket. There are some of those "plumbers" who have decades of experience, I read. It smells like paid reviews and BS to me.

Do it yourself if you're into it
5/5

To use this socket, you will need it. The answer is yes if you need to replace the heater element in your electric hot water tank! An electrical socket is somewhere to be found. However, it is a specific tool used for a specific purpose. It was the cheap tool I tried, which did not work to remove the stuck element ($6). In the end, I bought the socket ($10) on the left and it didn't What's the reason? You cannot grip the heater element using the socket that you bought from the hardware store because it is tapered on the inside. Unlike the socket on the right, the socket on the left is tapered slightly, so it fits snugly. (A job well done! My entire life revolves around tools, and I want to use the right one for each task. I really like how this works. Designed to fit perfectly over your 1/2" breaker bar or ratchet, it attaches to both with a quick release device. Using this socket, you will be able to remove the element without difficulty. What is the value of this product? Any buyer who is willing to make a purchase of this socket would be advised to do so.

It is much easier to connect a thin element hex to a normal socket thanks to this feature
3/5

This socket is adequate for the job at hand. Unlike a typical socket, this one has a flat face. When coupled with a thin element hex, it provides better coupling than normal sockets. Cheap metal bent into things sold as construction elements is no match for this. Camco is not being honest in its marketing, so I am knocking off 2 stars. Camco is the manufacturer of the packaging There is an engraving of USA on the socket (look at the photo), but it is Considering that it's a decent and inexpensive product, there is no reason to lead people to believe that it is made in the US.

I got something special for you! Being special is a good thing in this case! An electric water heater element socket is the ideal solution for removing and replacing elements
5/5

You'll only curse your knuckles and skin your cheeks as the water pump pliers slip and make dents in the water heater jacket if you attempt this job without this socket. The tool helps to turn a tedious, time consuming and frustrating process into a quick and easy one in 10 minutes The task is simple. A 1 is essentially all that is needed. This 1/2" drive socket will fit deep wells up to 5" The majority of us do not have this in our toolkit. The design is certainly overkill, but there are no other alternatives. To turn the socket in one of the cheap sheet metal alternatives, you need to turn a long screwdriver The water heater can sometimes be hard to adjust because of the tight space. Then you can use a ratchet to tighten the bolt if you want to be perfectly precise, you could also use a torque wrench Add the new elements to your site. This task was simplified for you!.

This is a great tool
5/5

I am going to tell you about something that will interest tool guys. you're the kind of person that does it all himself and invents stuff as you go along, you probably can stop there. In other words, you do not need this to replace a heater element in your Suburban water tank. You can connect the heater element with an existing socket at home. I believe, however, that this is a specific tool for a specific purpose. The element is easily taken out and put back in. My entire life revolves around tools, and I want to use the right one for each task. I really like how this works. To use it, you need a socket set with a 1/2 drive. Elements with the same lug are perfectly matched. The access hole is perfectly suited to it. Using this socket, you will be able to remove the element without difficulty. What is the value of this product? It is my opinion that it is.
