Is this a flush mount or a surface mount?

Yes, you cut the hole to the inside dimension and screw it in place with predrilled holes on the outside. It works well, but you'll need to put inside supports between the metal and the wood.

Is this door made of water-resistant materials?

No, it isn't, and I tried everything I could think of to make it so. No joy.

Is it polished stainless steel or chrome?

Stainless steel that has been polished

Is it better to use metal or plastic?

Metal is what it is.

Not quite, but the product's finish was satisfactory

For the application I wanted, using a key to operate the latch mechanism was inconvenient. To open the cover, there should be the option of using a key or simply a slot slot. The product installation I wanted was thwarted by the orientation of the installation. Fortunately, I had another cover that I could use instead of dealing with this item's flaws.

It's of good quality and looks fantastic! I bought two of these to replace the access hatches on the skirt of my toy hauler that were made of plastic

The Ultra-Large Dimensions of the Ultra-Large Dimensions of the Ultra- The Fab hatch was a little smaller than the one it replaced, but it was still big enough to cover the gap. These appear to be fantastic! The hinge and key mechanisms are in good working order. It would be ideal if the manufacturer produced a hatch that was 1/2 inch larger in both dimensions.

The most efficient access door for cargo trailers

This served as a pass-through door for my cargo trailer. It's ideal for putting an electric cord through. It appears to be in good condition; is heavy; If you know how to use a metal saw, installation is simple. I'd buy it again, but I don't think I'll ever need another one.

With a lack of quality control, the product is of average quality. The first one arrived with a crookedly welded door. The second one is merely adequate, with plenty of wiggle at the hinge. To tighten the hinge, I'll use an automatic center punch. The door is made of thin metal that shines brightly. I'll post a picture once it's installed. I am pleased with the installation. By punching all of the hinge segments, I was able to tighten it up. Only the top and bottom holes are punched when it leaves the factory.

It's fine, really. Because my copy was scratched, I deducted two stars. I needed to install it that day or I would have returned it if they hadn't applied a peel-off protective covering to the chrome side.
