It's only for a right-hand door, not a left-hand one. If you're looking at the door from the outside, the door handle will be on the left side.

Do you open the door with your right or left hand if you're facing it from the outside?

When it comes to the screen door latch, there is only one way to install it. Depending on what I'm carrying, I can open the screen door using either hand.

Is this latch also used to secure the screen door to the main door?

Yes, as long as you have the hook on the main door already. The hook is not included with this latch.

This stupid piece appears to be the weakest link in most travel trailers. I'd had my Forest River Wildwood for about 6 months when this piece snapped as I reached to open the door. I didn't want to pay a lot of money at the dealership. I took a risk and it paid off! It was a perfect fit and a breeze to put together!.
