For the Land Rover Discovery 2 (1999 - 2004), this ignition lock switch retrofit replacement kit is designed.

It is common for a discovery 2 key to periodically become stuck in the barrel, simply replacing the barrel tumbler assembly will often solve the problem.

QUICK AND EASY - Much easier than removing the grill and is well under half the price of the original part (if you can find it).

When installing this retrofit kit, you will notice that it looks quite different from the OEM tumbler, but it works just like the OEM tumbler. After installation, you will still be able to access all of your systems, but there will be two connectors left over which will be unconnected after installation.

the alarm work on left side drive vehicles? Does the alarm work in a right-side drive vehicle?

Yes, all of our parts are for north American spec left hand drive. This will not affect the alarm.

I was told I need to program the key when I received the package. Considering what is stated on the website, you do not need any programming expertise. Does the information you are provided with match the facts?

The programmer doesn't have to do anything. It may have a different wiring harness, so I just cut the plugs off and used connectors instead.

Do you think this part will fit your 1999 Land Rover Discovery II? I was not sure if this was the discovery 2 or not?

A Discovery 2 is likely to work with the ignition. Typically, the D2s cover the years 1999 to 2004. On my 01 D2, I also did the ignition.
