It will fit a 1992 chevrolet camaro heritage with a 305 cc engine. With VATS, 0l,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, OFHO, thank you. ?

Well. I'm not sure, but I believe it will fit in your Chevrolet. br>The cylinders do not differ between models, and my 1994 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 fits perfectly.

How can I get a key replacement if I don't know the code?

If you need a new ignition key, we can help. That means the vehicle will have to be towed to the dealership. To obtain a replacement ignition key, they need a special code reader as well as the vehicle identification number (VIN). It could cost as little as $125 depending on the vehicle. [From 0] upwards

Why isn't this item available for purchase in Canada?

Shipping would most likely be prohibitively expensive.

Yes. Everything went smoothly. Do not opt for the less expensive option. Check out the customer feedback. br>Removing the steering wheel and locking ring necessitates the use of a few tools. This was money well spent
5/5

The ignition is set to 30-minutes. year- A month ago, my old truck began to act strangely. Truck started fine, but after starting the engine, the key would not fully return to the 'run' position, preventing me from moving the column shifter out of 'park' unless I pushed the key cylinder in and then manually turned the key back slightly. This happened more and more frequently until the key got stuck in the 'run' position one day (thank goodness it happened at my house), and I had to pull the fuel pump fuse and then disconnect the battery to turn off the truck. Thankfully, I had already ordered this part and purchased the two specialized tools (steering wheel puller and steering wheel lock plate compressor) required for the job. Although there are no instructions included with the part, there are numerous YouTube videos available. On my pre-recorded music, it wasn't too difficult. truck with airbags It was the best $30 I've ever spent. br>br>It was the best $30 I've ever spent. The key works smoothly in all positions, and the lock cylinder no longer needs to be jiggled or played with. It also switches to 'accessory' mode, which the old cylinder didn't do. To be fair, the original cylinder lasted 30 years, which is quite impressive. Instead of an aftermarket key cylinder, do yourself a favor and go with this OEM part. If you notice your ignition is acting wonky, do yourself an even bigger favor and get this job done as soon as possible, or you'll end up stranded.

I'm replacing my lock cylinder for the second time in a month, and this should've been my first choice
5/5

I was 20 years old at the time. When I replaced the ignition in my 1990 Chevy K2500 pickup with a Standard Motors ignition, I expected the same results, so when I recently installed a Dorman 942-II, I was expecting the same results. 791, and I was so sure of myself that I sold my steering wheel puller and lock plate remover after I finished. I gave up on the wiggle and shake method of getting the switch to turn and instead used this switch, which solved the problem. I'm not sure what was wrong with the Dorman, but at just under 9-minutes, it was a bit of a challenge. It didn't seem to work as well as the other Dorman products in my truck for the money. It costs around 29 dollars. This one seemed expensive a few months ago, but once the Dorman was installed, the tools were gone, and the switch simply wouldn't work, I realized I had made a poor decision. For many years, aftermarket products have served me well, but recently my success rate has dwindled significantly, and I was having some bad luck with sensors on my 2001 Grand Prix, so when I needed to replace the ignition cylinder, I went with the ACDelco Professional D1496G and promptly forgot how well it worked after the installation. When something is difficult to replace, such as one of these, I'll go with an OEM part, and hopefully I've learned my lesson about buying based on price and reviews, because reviews aren't always updated to reflect issues after the installation. You can choose how many times you want to remove your steering wheel and that little snap ring, but I find that twice is enough. One advantage (if you like buzzers) is that it brought back my key in warning that had been lost due to the Dorman switch. When I was reinstalling the wheel, the horn connector broke (again). There's only a tiny little tab holding it in place, so I cut the wire, flipped the sleeve over, and used the tab on the other end, then crimped the wires back together with a wire connector. If you don't strip the wires first, the flimsy little tab will most likely break off. Anyway, I should've bought this first, and I like that I can pop out the tabs in the keys to make them fit better on our key rings than the Dorman's tiny little hole did.

OEM is the most effective! Despite the fact that the other aftermarket lock cylinders are less expensive, they all come with generic keys that say "For GM Cars
5/5

" This OEM (after all, ACDelco is General Motors' aftermarket supplier) lock cylinder comes with keys that only say "GM" and look identical to the ones that came with my 1986 GMC s15 Jimmy. This lock fits and finishes perfectly, and it restores the function of the "your key is still in the ignition" signal, which had been lost with the previous cylinder. Another advantage is that my key can no longer be removed from the lock while the vehicle is in motion, which is obviously beneficial! Of course, installing this cylinder will necessitate the use of two specialized tools (a steering wheel remover and a lock plate compressor, both of which can be rented from any of the major auto parts stores) as well as some mechanical know-how. It's not for the faint of heart, but it's well within the capabilities of any DIYer.

It took me a while to put everything together, but it was simple to put back together
4/5

The switch functioned exactly as it should have. It was a pain to get there, but Auto Zone tool rentals saved the day! To get to the ignition set screw on our '93 Chevy Silverado, we needed both the steering wheel puller and a "spring compression" tool. It also aids in the removal of the steering wheel when using a 1/2" impact. I tried breaking it down with a breaker bar, but it put too much strain on the steering tilt mechanism. br>br>In addition to the rental tools, a 1/2" impact wrench with 13/16 socket, T15 long shaft star wrench, and 1" impact wrench with 13/16 socket are all useful. 2 phillips screwdrivers, 2 small slat screwdrivers to undo the two retainer clips, and white grease to lubricate components before reassembly It took me a while to put everything together, but it was simple to put back together. You can do this if you have a mechanical aptitude. Best of luck!.

It's brand new! I recently purchased this truck, and the ignition key was bent, and one of the small turn tabs on the ignition had broken off, and I needed to have it re-keyed
5/5

It's a dreadful experience to be keyed. As a result, this is the most effective solution. Despite the fact that I am a self-taught mechanic, I was hesitant to disassemble the steering column. It was, however, quick and simple with the right tools. It was also ridiculously simple to change the ignition. This new ignition is silky smooth and flawless! It appeals to me. THANK YOU SO MUCH!.

Ignition Cylinder and Key are a perfect match for the original
5/5

In my Chevy Astro Cargo Van, I had to replace the ignition key. This was an excellent match. The product appears to be of high quality. It rotates smoothly and is essentially a plug-and-play replacement. There are only two keys included, and no instructions. Once you've found the locking screw that keeps the lock cylinder in place, it's a breeze to put together. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone.
