It is for oxygen sensors that are very short and with a thin wire, because the slit is too narrow for a bigger oxygen sensor wire and too short to let a thick wire make it to the hex. The 2006 Infiniti QX56 I own could not use it.
I wasn't shocked at how inexpensive it was, nor was it really expensive, maybe just one or two dollars more than I would have like to pay. I was able to use it for the job and it got the job done I took about 3 hours to complete it To remove the O2 upstream, it will take you about five minutes. It's likely that I will use this tool again in 6 months or a year to fix the other oxygen In case you're cheap and don't want this tool, see if you can use a wrench as an alternative The other alternative choice is the EXAS O2 sensor bracket. I bought it, and it made life a whole lot easier for me to remove and install the sensor. I'll make it easy for you.
Works for Toyota V6 engines and should be able to replace the O2 sensor on most other engines. Can be used without taking off the heat shield. The prices of others are much higher. WD-40 or penetrating oil are your best options for removing O2 sensors The old sensor may be removed more easily by using a 40, then anti-rust products An antiseize compound is applied to new sensors to keep corrosion from Repeat usage is not a problem because this product is heavy duty.
There are a lot of specialized tools that are required for this process, which I find a nuisance. There is no long term value for this tool, since you use it once and then it sits around gathering dust. While it was reliable for the job I needed it for, it is of limited use.
My problem could have been solved if it had been 1/2 inch deeper, as I had to pound it over the oxygen sensor with a mallet, shattering the wire. This is not ideal if you intend to reuse the oxygen sensor.
It does not work for my BMW 2012 750i (F01). I am pleased with the product, but the slot on the side is more narrow than deep. There is no way for me to In many applications, this tool might be the ideal solution. I have a BMW 2012 750i (F01) that it doesn't even come close to beating. The measurements were off by about an inch. There is a reason for this, since the slot is too narrow to accommodate the wider base of the wire.
This is the kind of tool you will only use once and then where it will only see any use is it's your buddy asking if you know someone with an O2 sensor socket so then you have the problem of remembering where you left it.
As I was putting the wire into the slot I had to really force it into place, and then the back of the O2 sensor took up most The wire was quite bent when I bent it and forced it onto the ring. Despite that, the space was a tight squeeze, but it worked very well. While I've probably been looking for another version with the aforementioned characteristics, I might also consider another one.
