Questions & Answers

Is there a special cam sensor for the timing chain cover that I need to purchase? I'm not sure what to do with the original cam sensor hole. Is a new connector required as well?

I don't believe you've provided enough details to answer that question. I'd need to know more about your application, but if it's for an 8, that should suffice. 1st, the sensor, gear, and cover must all match, as well as possible wiring modifications depending on the year of your vehicle to switch to a later model setup, so do your homework.

Is this going to fit a Trailblazer SS 6 from 2006?

To be honest, don't believe Amazon's claims about this item's fit. Unfortunately, I purchased a set and installed them only to discover that they are incompatible with my vehicle.

Is this something that needs to be redone?

No, you don't have to tell me what's wrong with your car.

On my 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, where is the cam position sensor? Is it the one right above the water pump?

On the front right side, just above the harmonic balancer, next to the water pump.

It's a pain to set up, but it fixes the problem
5/5

I've spent a lot of time doing do-it-yourself projects. Over the years, I've worked on my cars, but getting the crank pulley pulled out far enough (even with a puller) has been one of the most difficult tasks. br>This fixed my Avalanche's problem, and it's now running smoothly. br>Do yourself a favor and only purchase OEM (ACDelco) parts - Because of a less-than-ideal situation, this is not a job you'd like to do again. than- A $40 sensor from a third-party Asian manufacturer cut corners and lacked the same level of quality as this one.

My original is the same as this
5/5

This was the same beige color and part number as the one I removed from my 2007 Yukon. It went down without a hitch. My old one was a pain to get out of and was damaged on the way out, so I had to replace it.

I couldn't wear it because it was too big
3/5

My truck is a 2008 Silverado 5. 3 engine: every website that sells this part (including this one) said it was the right part for my truck. I couldn't get it to fit after attempting to install it. The sensor's diameter appears to be too large to fit inside the engine block based on the images. As you can see, there are a few other issues, such as how it's mounted, which may interfere with the installation of the starter, which is located just below this sensor. I'm sure it will fit other vehicles, but if yours is anything like mine, you'll need 213- 3520 or 12585546 (directly taken from the old part) I hope this has been of assistance.

It works
5/5

So far, the 2007 Escalade has performed admirably. It took a lot of effort to remove the old one. After stalling out while towing my trailer, I had to replace all of my vvt components. When towing, it performs admirably and idles quietly. I'm getting around 17 miles per gallon on average.

I was able to save $1300 on my Hybrid 6. 0 Tahoe. Excellent craftsmanship. It's still working perfectly.

Everything went smoothly
5/5

After my 2009 G8 GT began to throw the sensor code, I installed this. The factory sensor was replaced exactly, and the sensor code error was corrected.

Be careful who you buy from
3/5

After being installed, the sensor caught fire. The ignition was turned on but the motor was never started. I purchased one from a GM dealer and discovered that the sensors were not the same. The one from Amazon doesn't appear to be genuine GM components. Buyers should be cautious.

As was to be expected
5/5

For my 2005 Pontiac GTO, I needed a replacement part. I was able to resolve the issue with my check engine light.
