Questions & Answers

The interior of a 2007 Honda Civic hybrid is tan. Is it gray or a specific shade? Is this a taupe or a dark atlas?

It's the dark grey, the atlas grey, if you're looking at the same one I ordered, which appears to be showing.

What is the maximum size of dbl din that you can install with this?

I'm not sure, but all of the major brands of radios fit perfectly.

I have a 2010 Civic EX with a black dashboard. Is this the correct color or is there a difference between this and the grey one?

It's a very dark grey; if your dash is completely black, you might notice the difference. It's almost a dark grey with a charcoal tint to it. However, because the piece is so large, it could be mistaken for a dash.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to stereo equipment. Is there a radio that will fit into this dash kit? Due to my inability to turn up, I'm going to upgrade from factory. ?

Single and double DIN radios are both available. Singles are the standard small rectangular ones, while doubles are the larger ones that have video screens. Adapter plates for both types are included in this kit.

This is a fantastic product, and it's probably the best option for the 2006-2007 school year
4/5

Civic model year 2011. It fits perfectly in our 2011 vehicle. It's a breeze to set up, especially after watching a few online video tutorials. I've included photos to demonstrate that the color is nearly identical to the original, and that the difference is virtually undetectable once installed.

It works, but there are a lot of issues, which means you'll waste a lot of time
3/5

br>Here's what I'm driving: With premium sound but no navigation, the 2008 Honda Civic EX is a great car. br>Here's what I'm aiming for: behind the shifter, to replace the factory head unit and amplifier br>Conclusion: eh, I wish I had purchased a different brand or a Honda part. Why will you find out later?br>br>- br>Let's begin on a positive note. br>br>For me, the color match was perfect. I compared the OEM panel to this one, and they appeared to be nearly identical (though the OEM was a little faded from the sun over the last decade). )
- If you're curious, I purchased the gray version. br>br>Comes with everything listed on the box: main panel (gray), two side mounts (black), single and double din trim pieces (black NOT GLOSSY), single din pocket (black), and single din pocket screws.

- Now for the problems I had with my Pioneer 80 PRS (Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Single - Din)br>br>For starters, the screw cylindrical holes in the plastic panel are much thinner than those in the OEM panel! I split the first one with light pressure because the OEM's hardware is, based on my best guess, an 8 1/2 in. screw. I didn't have enough screws in my spare bins, so a quick trip to the only store open at 7:00 p. m. was necessary. 30 p. Walmart came to my rescue. I purchased an eight-pack and a six-and-a-half-pack. I didn't have to go out again because I had screws to compare. (Each of these was around 97 cents, for a total of under 3 dollars. ) ) The 6 1/2-inch-long 6 1/2-inch-long 6 1/2-inch-long The screws worked perfectly, and I haven't had any further problems with plastic cracking. If you do encounter a problem, I recommend using super glue or krazzy glue to reinstall the larger screw until the crack closes. After that, dab some glue on it and inside the crack, and slowly remove the screw. It'll be as good as new if you let it sit for a while. sorta. Another problem. br>br> When I went to install the shield on my radio, I discovered that the included plastic brackets blocked its path, so I had to install it without it. It works, but I'm not happy with it, so I'm going to order the passenger and driver side brackets from Honda for $30 each to fix the problem. *If you want to keep the plastic brackets that came with the kit, widen the holes where they would bolt into the metal frame under the radio cubby, or use a smaller screw instead.
br>Trim pieces / Brackets for mounting: For me, this kit's worst component was these. My Pioneer unit has a glossy finish, as well as a glossy trim piece. However, I have to use the supplied trim pieces or I'll end up with gaps and a glossy top half and a matte bottom half. Finally, the most aggravating problem I encountered was with the installation of my ac control board. It went in without a hitch at first, until I went to test its functionality in the car! I was only testing some things, so I didn't force the clips in. After pressing the buttons for the rear window anti-fog wire and the recirculate, it turned out that they were stuck. You could sand the openings they go into, but that would necessitate painting the scratched surfaces, which I didn't want to do. I tried various methods of tightening two screws more than the other, but they all failed because the knobs that turn for the ac fan and temp control would snap in, but the temp control one would pull the entire control board up closer to the panel, causing the buttons to become stuck again. br>If this happens to you, get some washers that are just big enough to be lightly hammered in with the butt of a screwdriver on the opposite side of where you would screw the screws in. One washer on the top part (closest to the radio housing) and two washers on the bottom part (closest to the bottom of the panel if facing it sitting in your dash) worked for me. ) This restored normal operation of the buttons, but left me with a temperature control that was extremely difficult to turn. It's a good thing I don't use it very often! *The ac fan knob appeared to be working normally as well, with no pressure issues like the temperature control.
br>Final Thoughts: Is this a good dash kit? br>Can you tell me if it's a good dash kit? br>It all depends on your needs. If you want something that will look great but will take a little more effort, this is the way to go. My recommendation, however, is to try a different brand or even buy the part directly from Honda. br>br>In addition, you'll need to purchase the following items: 6 1/2 in. x 6 1/2 in. x 6 1/2 in. x 6 1/2 in. x 6 (Around 15 screws should suffice; this way, if you lose one, you won't be scrambling to find it! )br>Washers (I'll try to get the size I used and upload pictures when I disassemble this to upgrade to better brackets)br>Honda Brackets passenger/driver for a more secure installation. br>Mount the bottom two mounts to metal under the dash with a drill or a 2x smaller screw. a LOT OF TIME br>a LOT OF TIME br>a LOT OF TIME br>a LOT OF TIME br>br>I still give this product a 3 because, in the end, it works, albeit not flawlessly. br>br>I've included photographs of the following: (as of ten years ago) 17)br>/ OEM vs. Scosche cylindersbr>/ Passenger and driver side plastic brackets with both radio and pocket installedbr>/ 6 and 8 screw comparisonbr>/ Resultsbr>/ close up on radio and trim piece gapbr>/.

It was a perfect fit for my 2009 Civic
5/5

I needed a new dash panel to install a new head unit in my daughter's 2009 Civic. This instrument panel performed admirably. There are no gaps between the panels, and they are evenly aligned. I can't tell the difference in color because it's so close. It was simple to put together and appears to be of good quality. My only two complaints are the plastic head unit mounts; there was no cracking and the clips snapped in perfectly. br>br>My only two complaints are the plastic head unit mounts; there was no cracking and the clips snapped in perfectly. br>br>My only two complaints are the plastic head unit mounts; there was no cracking I wish they were made of metal, but given how light the unit is, it didn't pose a problem, so I won't deduct any stars for it. Just keep in mind that if you attach one of those digital amps to the back of the head unit, it will add weight and stress to them. The dash also leans back a little, causing glare on the touch screen on occasion. br>br>The other complaint is that the dash leans back a little, causing occasional glare on the touch screen. That, I believe, is more of a manufacturer's design issue, and this dash did the best it could without creating an unattractive bulky shape. I'm not going to deduct a star because of it. br>br>Overall, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to others. I've included a photo of the completed item.

A lack of quality control
3/5

There were a few serious fitment issues as well as questions about the quality of the product. This kit fits my 2008 Civic EX 2-door sedan. Premium sound in a two-door coupe. A Sony double-decker TV was installed. din. This kit has the following MAJOR flaws:
1. (Pic 1) The cutout for the temperature control cluster was molded incorrectly. Take a look at the photo. The bottom four buttons become stuck against the kit's cutout in this illustration. To demonstrate that the other buttons are pressed and remain stuck, I left the "MAX AC" button impressed. I had to carefully shave away some plastic, working a little at a time until the buttons could be pressed and released freely, just like they did when they were new. The dash had to be handled with extreme caution to avoid scratching or cracking.
2. (Pic 2) The mounting screw holes and posts were not the same size as the original Hondas. Almost all of the mount posts in this kit were split open by the original Honda screws. There doesn't appear to be any thread pitch matching. But I was able to secure everything by slowly screwing each screw in. I simply despise seeing plastic components crack or split.
3. The two (M8) bolts that secure the entire dash kit into the car's steel braces didn't line up, making threading the M8 screws in nearly impossible. As a result, I decided not to secure the entire dash and instead used the plastic clips. I couldn't get a picture of it from under the dash, inside the miscellaneous storage tray, so I'm hoping it doesn't make any rattling noises over time. The good news is that: br>br> br>Color = after a few days, I had to update my color comment. The color was originally stated to match Honda's factory gray, but it does not. The OEM has a slightly warm tint to it. This kit has a flat gray color scheme. I compared the texture of the two surfaces with my fingers and couldn't tell the difference. br>br>Overall This kit left me feeling a little underwhelmed. However, as most DIY installers are aware, undoing all of the work, reinstalling the stock stereo, and processing a return would be extremely inconvenient! Wait for a replacement, then restart the installation from scratch several days later. So, instead of returning it and ordering a Metra brand kit, I decided that my time is more valuable. To complete my installation, I made it work. This is probably not a good choice for inexperienced installers. Just be cautious when it comes to the mounting screws. You don't want to crack the mounting posts, so be prepared to shave/lightly trim some plastic!.
