Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with a 2004? Which of the two appears to be nearly identical? I'm just curious if anyone has driven a car from this year. ?

Hello, thank you for your question. If your vehicle is a 2004 Toyota Camry, the Metra vehicle fit guide lists a part number 99-03 as a replacement. 8231 br>Alternatively, you can go to their website and enter your vehicle's information, and they will present you with a number of options. br>We appreciate your interest in The Wires Zone.

What is the maximum size of touch screen stereo that this dash kit can accommodate?

The dash panel is designed to fit double din stereos, so if your touch screen is also double din, it will fit perfectly.

Will this dash kit fit my 2011 Toyota Camry LE, which has a 7-inch touch screen radio?

The standard double din opening on all of our kits is 6 inches. 83" x 3" is the size of the painting. If your radio is bigger than 95", you'll need to adjust the opening. Keep in mind that doing so will void the kit's warranty.

I'm using a Kenwood kdc-100 as a speaker. In a 2009 Camry, I have an mp438u. Is this a viable solution?

Both single and double din head units are compatible with this kit! I also like how the interior looks like it came straight from the factory. Excellent product.

It worked and looked great in the end, but it required quite a bit of tinkering
4/5

An ATOTO A6 head unit was installed in a 2010 Camry LE using this kit. The kit ended up looking great, as you can see in the before and after photos, but it took about 3 hours of clipping off plastic pieces, shaving plastic down, and inserting homemade spacers to get the head unit to fit into the install kit. The plastic used in the installation kit appears to be of good quality. Given how often we installed and removed it, it didn't scratch easily. br>To remove the excess plastic and deburr the edges where the plastic was removed, I used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel and a sanding drum attachment. To fill the gap between the radio and the side brackets, I had to make some spacers (I used wood because it wouldn't show) and drill some holes in the wood. It's possible that some stacked washers would have sufficed. I was in need of four M5-sized screws. Because the ones provided weren't long enough to go through the side pieces, through the spacer, and into the head unit, 80 x 12mm bolts were used to secure the bracket sides to the head unit. br>At the end of the day, the kit is secure and attractive, and anyone with basic skills could install it; however, it is not for the faint of heart, in my opinion. 3 stars for ease of installation and 4 stars for value for money.

The installation was flawless! It was a perfect match
5/5

br>The kit fit perfectly and was simple to put together. br>I had no problems installing this kit because I followed the instructions to the letter. br>The color matched perfectly, and I'm very pleased with the end result as well as the installation's stability. br>Some of the instructions may appear a little hazy at first, but stick with it and everything will fall into place.

Toyota Camry CE 2007, Toyota Camry CE 2007, Toyota Camry CE 2007, Toyota Camry CE This is a solid four-star product; the only reason it isn't a five-star product is due to two factors
4/5

First and foremost, the mounting brackets are plastic; I would have gladly paid a few dollars more for metal ones. Second, the tabs on the bottom of the environmental control panel that slide into the slots needed to be filed down a little to fit properly in the slots. Aside from that, it was a perfect match for my 2007 Camry CE. I would strongly suggest it.

Not even close to being flush! The Metra service in this area is terrible
3/5

If you examine the creases on the dash plate closely, you will notice that they are not flush or attractive. It looks terrible, and I can't believe Metra allowed it to pass. When you install this dash kit and screw in the bracket bolts, if it appears that it isn't flush or that it isn't lining up correctly, you are not mistaken. Return it for a replacement. I should do the same, but it's only a matter of time before I have to deal with it. Not at all what I expected from Metra products.

Not a bad product; I bought it for a 2009 Camry; installation was simple; however, the plastic frame was disappointing in comparison to Toyota's metal frame
4/5

The only genuine criticism is that the receiver does not sit flush with the bezel, but rather sits slightly recessed. Aside from that, it's a good deal!.

For the 2009 Camry, a dash kit is available
3/5

The price is reasonable. It was about $60 cheaper to order from Amazon than to buy it in a store. br>The surface plate matches my dashboard's interior, and there's a small storage area just below the radio. Small items will be difficult to retrieve if your hands are large, as mine are. The face plate falls in and does not stay flush, which is the only disadvantage of the dash kit. If you use your radio's detachable feature, this can be inconvenient. The plate is very close to the button that unlocks and detaches the radio. Also, re-inserting the radio is a pain. Apart from that, it fulfills my requirements.

Single-stack single-stack single-stack single-stack single Decks with a difference
4/5

Out of the box, this was a very nice unit. Metra is a champ, and they can install single din, double din, or two stacked single din units in any configuration you want. A single din head unit and a single din equalizer were mounted beneath the head unit in my setup. Other install kits haven't always worked well with double stacked single din units in the past, so I was pleased to find that these did. br>br>If you're putting in a double-stacked single-glazed window, This kit may be a problem if you have a din unit with a flip down face because it doesn't leave much space between the two units, causing the bottom edge of the flip down face to bottom out on your bottom unit as it folds. I don't use CDs and wanted a flip-book, so it wasn't an issue for me. I turned down my face so I wouldn't have to look at a CD slot I'd never use. br>br>Overall, the kit's quality is mediocre at best. The plastic is flimsy and cheap, but the unit mounts well enough that you won't notice it after installation. The color is a perfect match for the original Camry console. The texture of the paint, on the other hand, is not the same as it was on the original console, which is my biggest gripe. The paint on this unit feels coarse and grainy, whereas the finish on the original console is coarse but smoother than grainy. When you run your hand across both surfaces, you'll be able to tell the difference. This may not bother some people, and it isn't a big deal, but I'm a picky person, and things like that irritate me. Though the paint matches perfectly, the material and paint quality are such that it feels as if it will easily rub off or scuff/scratch, revealing the nasty black beneath. If this is a problem, only time will tell. Overall, it's a solid unit. br>br> You won't find anything better on the market right now, according to what I've seen; It's also preferable to the Scosche version, which does not match the Camry's original paint perfectly. This concerns me more than the texture problem. The installation instructions for this unit were also simple enough for almost anyone to follow. br>br>I'm hoping it lasts, but if it doesn't, it'll be cheap to replace in the future.
