Questions & Answers

Is the wiring kit a part of the package?

The Metra 95 is a train that runs between Chicago and New York City. The "T" harness required for 7th generation Honda Accords was not included in the 7862 dash kit that I ordered. The dash kit was the only thing included; there was no wiring harness.

If a head unit isn't used, what size screen will fit in this kit?

It measures 8 1/4" diagonally, 7 1/8" wide, and 4 3/8" high, according to my measurements.

Is it going to fit a 7-inch double-din?

Yes, I have a 7-inch double-din that works perfectly.

I have a boss audio bv9755 double-speaker system. 7 inch din Is this item compatible with my audio system and will it fit in my 2005 Honda Accord? tks?

Yes, it does, and it will round out your Metra radio service. This installation kit has two parts. DIN and fits Honda Accords from 2003 to 2007.

Selected User Reviews For Metra 95-7862 Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for Honda Accord (Black)

I purchased this for a 2006 Honda Accord, and it took about 20 minutes to remove the old pocket and install this with a Pioneer double din
5/5

After everything was reassembled, it looks as if it came from the factory. Although I'm not sure about other double din radios, the Pioneer has a feature that allows you to tilt the screen up for a better view because it sits lower than the stock radio. Overall, if you're looking for an aftermarket radio, it's well worth the money.

There's an easy way to save $250 in a short amount of time
5/5

My 2005 Accord's cheapo radio broke, so I decided to replace it. It's safe to say that the original head unit's designers failed miserably in their attempt to turn it into a proprietary system; I only needed three cables from the kit to connect a new Kenwood touchscreen system, which is really the only part of the sound system worth spending more than $200 on. Even though the shift stick is in the way, it still looks like it came with the car (matching plastic) and secures the unit, and, as I previously stated, it is reasonably priced when compared to kits that require the installer to remove the entire A/C interface.

The fit and appearance are perfect
5/5

I got an aftermarket stereo to replace my OEM one. Honda combined the stereo and climate controls into a single large screen. This kit makes it simple to avoid buying a large, expensive adaptor kit if you only need to run a single-channel application. In the storage pocket beneath the radio/climate area, you can store din or double din. After installation, it appears to be original and fits comfortably and securely. I would strongly advise anyone looking to upgrade their stereo to do so.

Ordered due to a lack of alternative options
3/5

I screwed new holes because the old ones didn't match the radio I was installing. It was a little difficult to get it into the vehicle's brackets, but once in, it won't come out. The supports snapped off when I tried to uninstall to fix some wiring. Fortunately, the unit does a good job of staying in place. Because the scosche unit I ordered was out of stock, I went with this metra kit as an alternative. If I had to order again, I would only do so if it was absolutely necessary.

The harness is included in the package
5/5

It's also incredibly simple to set up! This kit came with a harness that isn't shown in the photos, which I really like. It's a lot easier to wire up a stereo with this! You can't beat the price on this kit.

Everything is in order
5/5

Keep in mind that this replaces the storage cubby below the section with the radio and climate controls, not the section with the radio and climate controls. If you want to upgrade, this is your only choice. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to look down a little more, but that has nothing to do with the part and everything to do with Honda's design. You're good to go if you have a head unit with a remote.

The fit is perfect
5/5

A Pioneer radio with CarPlay was installed in a 2005 Honda Accord. It was much less expensive to install it in the existing dash pocket than to replace the OEM radio ($1200 vs. $1500). The total cost is $325. This kit was exactly what I needed and was simple to put together. A separate steering wheel control module and a backup camera are used. FABULOUS!.

It's a perfect fit for the radio
5/5

There aren't any wiggles to be found. The factory integration/bypass harness is fantastic. This holds my Kenwood Double-Dual-Dual-Dual-Dual-Dual Perfect for a DIN radio. It also included everything you'll need to get around the factory's non-return policy. Keep the A/C controls and use the original display for everything else. Because my factory antenna did not reach the new radio (this may vary depending on the aftermarket radio you choose), you might want to consider getting an antenna extension cable.
