Selected User Reviews For Metra 99-7604 Single/Double DIN Installation Kit for 2003-2004 Infiniti G35
Since the stock stereo kept turning off and on by itself in my 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe, I upgraded to an 8" DIN. This is the installation kit for the 7604 single/double DIN installation box I bought a 2004 Infiniti G35 on Amazon after reaching out to my local car audio shop for quotes exceeding $200. Not all buttons are plastic, but some are made from rubber.
It was an upgrade to my sound system which led to me buying this kit five or six years ago. It was finding its way to the point of showing some serious wear and tear, as most of the silver paint around the radio region and down to the base was beginning to rub off and show black plastic underneath. After having thought it over, I had decided that I wanted a double DIN system for my stereo. The E clips I needed to install the new head unit were no longer available to me. My solution was to buy a new dash kit so that I could fit a double DIN as well as to have a nice finish on the setup. As a relative newcomer, I found the new kit more comfortable than my previous Vents snap better where they are designed to snap in, and there are fewer gaps. As a whole, I like how it fits and looks nice. Plastic painted with a bright color is the only thing that concerns me. It is inevitable that the paint will wear off over time. Observed by others, there are a few differences to the AC control buttons from the stock version. Soft rubber feels like they are made of. There is no doubt they differ, but they work fine and don't look any worse than OE, so I don't think it is a big issue. In spite of the few problems in this kit, it is still a great value for the price.
I bought and installed this product and it worked for 4 days until the A/C buttons stopped working. Besides having to pay $150 for labor to have this installed, I now have to pay $150 for a new one to be There aren't very many options for dash kits for this particular car currently, so I'm out $300 because this part was defective. I have no idea if the new one works either, but there are not very many options available at this point.
It looks good and is easy to use Having patience and a bit of know-how will let you install it on your own The preparation process. After replacing the factory unit with an aftermarket Pioneer, it has been working fine for many months. I spent several hours on it, but the challenge was fun and I saved money by doing it myself rather than paying someone else to do it for me. Although it's not a $300 bezel, I believe it's adequate & definitely worth its price. It is not noticeable to the average person.
I discovered that the cable for the climate control did not come with the package after taking the car apart and beginning installation.
A radio in my 2003 G35 died, and I decided to install a kit myself. It's great to have the air conditioner back in working order.
I installed this in my G35 sedan (2003). This is a good product, but not for the faint-hearted. Both the HVAC control and the radio were malfunctioning due to the problem of going in and out of climate control and the failure of my 6 disc changer (both of which are common problems for this model car). It was made of plastic that had a crack in it. A supplier that I contacted via Amazon called me personally that same day and arranged for the replacement part to be shipped out express and for the return label to be sent out for the broken part to be returned. I am impressed.
Good Even though it's not OEM, it matches the silver trim pretty well. It is a pretty bad set of instructions. It's a good idea to have images for every step of something this complex. I agree, but. One poor picture is more like one step every three. This is one of the easiest things to mess There is no black on the buttons, only grey. I would appreciate the ability to choose from different colors since my interior is The issue is not too important. As I was mounting the vents, they kept popping out of the openings and I could not keep them in place as well as I would like. You can do it, but give yourself lots of time to test and go slowly.
