Same here, I just spliced in my own wire and connected it to my new external power supply
Trying to connect to the battery is a possibility (I did in a couple of examples), however, it will turn the rocker switch light on all the time, and will also help keep you in the dark when your key is off (which was the goal in some cases). It is possible to tap into a light wire in your fuse block or into the back of your fuse block for the bar to go off after the key is turned The choice is yours. Here is what I hope will help.
The 16 gauge (gauge) is clearly stated.

My Amazon order was for four fused harnesses with switch connectors from Nilight. These cameras have a great design and can be very easily used and installed. I did NOT even attempt to connect two of these, as they had serious quality control issues. One even had exposed wires and I wouldn't touch On first glance, this one appeared to work fine, but caused a spark and short when There is nothing to complain about in the design Quality control is not a part of the process There is no such entity. Once I have received a response and a resolution from Nilight, I will update this review. The following update has been made There is a serious problem with their customer service. It took them a week to respond to my inquiry, so I submitted it again. In response, they replied twice, and I am now being ignored Any promise regarding 2-would be put to the test by this fact They should not even offer one year warranties against moisture buildup in lights, etc. , if they won't resolve products shipped with obvious It is best to stick to a company who understands things like "quality control" and "customer service" as these guys appear to not.
As a result, one of my Nilight Lights came with a wiring package, but a more expensive light did not. To be on the safe side, always read the fine print on a light before buying it, to determine if you will need the wiring package. This wiring is what I needed for my 2018 Forester to make a rear light. Located in the front section of the engine compartment, the battery for this model is located under the hood. The wiring from the battery to the cabin barely reaches inside the cabin from that point on. There would have been a benefit in having an extra foot or two. However, the wiring between the battery and the rear of the car was quite short, and I had to splice some wires together to extend it. It would be good if there was an option for longer wires.
Other than that, rocker switches work fine. Basically, it's a switch that turns things on and off. As well as the fuse and relay, it has a power supply. For someone like me who is not very experienced, not having to worry about those components was nice.
I have bought and installed many of these harnesses. So I went ahead and bought it since it seemed great for a fraction of the price. The fuse automatically blew after the battery was connected to the harness and the leads to the battery. My connections were all checked and a new fuse was installed. As I began to disconnect the battery, the wire started smoking and then rapidly exploded into flame. Thank goodness I had water nearby and used the ratchet to quickly shut down the machinery. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the wires coming out of the relay under the protection sheathing were not insulated correctly and were touching one another. It's just horrible because you can't inspect it in advance, so you assume that everything is fine with the jacket installed. My vehicle was at risk of being destroyed after this catastrophic letdown. a little Their replacement has been sent, and I plan on carefully reviewing it. I just want everyone to know that if the same wiring is made poorly in future, everything would be a lot worse Get it from a reputable company if you want to spend the extra money.
A 2002 Dodge Ram and a 2017 Ford F150 are the only vehicles running with a harness this long from the battery to the front bumper. It takes the wires barely a couple inches to reach the dash from the battery to the switch. Due to the fact that the battery in a full-charge Although the truck size is large, the distances between terminal post connections are only barely sufficient. It doesn't matter which way you go, you'll need more terminal connections and wire to ensure a longer.
Are you searching for a harness to use for your off-roading Are you searching for a road toy or a I like this harness a lot. As far as I am concerned, Nilight is the best option My opinion is that Amazon lighting is the best. It is not my purpose to give you all the pros first, you want to know why it is I'm here to tell you what I mean Generally, the switch leads are not long enough to accommodate This one drawback is more than offset by the pros I like the coating on the wires. I like that there would be no slop on the switch face. I like that the plugs are encased for protection against water. I liked how easy they were to install. If you want to keep your objects in place, zip ties and wire stays are your best friends.
There is no way you can install this without the complete set. It appears to be good quality and has all the necessary tools. For the harness to work on a truck with reverse lights, you will need to splice in about 8" of wire to reach the back of the truck while the switch is mounted in the dash of the truck. There was no instruction booklet included with the switch except instructions on how to connect it.
The kit is great. The package includes all the necessary items. It took me a while to realize how short the leads are for the lights themselves. It was my fault for not reading how long the leads were, so I had to splice and add extensions. Other than that, the connection, switch, and cables are of high quality. I really like this kit, it's great.
The most cost-effective way I have found to wire in lights is with this method. With the kit, you can avoid buying all the pieces and doing all the ends yourself, which will save you a lot of money and time. For application, I start with this and then extend the cables. This harness has never given me any problems in the five or six times I've used it.
