Questions & Answers

Is this useful for drones, and would it fit the 40-series Flowmaster? Also, where can I get the Cool It Thermo Tec?

If you can't seem to get your drone to stop, give Magnaflow a shot.

Will this fit a Buick Park Avenue from the year 1998?

If you have a Flowmaster muffler, it should fit perfectly. I used the shield on my 36 Ford, which had clearance issues but fit perfectly over the muffler.

Is it possible to bend this into a catalytic converter shape? To pass visual, make the ends tighter and the middle loose. Vebicle can get by without it, but what if you really need it?

It's heavy metal with a thick gauge. Is it therefore possible to reshape it? The answer is always yes, but it would almost certainly take just as much effort as making one from scratch. Reforming it into a different shape would necessitate the use of metalworking tools. To successfully make into a shape that would pass visual inspection, I believe you would need at least a mig welder. There are probably better options, such as finding an appropriate Catalytic converter at a salvage yard, cutting it in half, stripping the interior parts, and using the outer shells. To pass emissions testing, the car would obviously need to have a catalytic converter installed.

The Flowmaster under the fuel tank is a fantastic addition to any vehicle
5/5

To begin with, the dimensions listed in the description are incorrect. The length (from inlet to outlet on a muffler) is 17 inches, and the width is 10 inches (closer to 11 inches when clamps are tight, but squeezes to about 10 inches). The dimensions listed in the description are more accurate to the size of the box in which it is shipped. br>However, if you own a Flowmaster 50 series, the dimensions aren't necessary. br>br>In response to another reviewer's complaint that it doesn't fit and the clamps are too short, this one fits perfectly and the clamps are also plenty long. A shield that does not fit Flowmaster's mufflers will not be included in the package. Just make sure you know what you're working with; the photo of this heat shield on the Flowmaster under my Camaro should demonstrate that it fits and the clamps are long enough. In fact, the clamps (simple worm clamps, similar to hose clamps) could have been a little shorter. a hose clamp with a length of 23 inches). br>br>On the inside of this shield, I added some Cool It Thermo Tec Aluminized heat barrier strips. It would have been nice if something like this had been included at no additional cost, but I don't see that as a reason to detract from the product's overall rating.

It was the perfect fit! This is what I used on my Arctic Cat Prowler Pro muffler from 2021
5/5

It was the perfect fit and function. My Prowler's Muffler is hidden beneath the bed. When the muffler was hot, it caused the bed floor to warp. This was a perfect fit and solved my problem.

If you've recently installed a new exhaust system, you'll need this
5/5

It's fantastic. I only wish I had bought this shield sooner - Mufflers generate a lot of heat, which made my jeep's floor extremely hot. Installing it was a breeze.

Clamps are included, making installation a breeze
5/5

I didn't use it on the muffler it was designed for, but it did fit perfectly on an American Thunder series muffler. It's difficult to say whether it has a heat-reducing effect.

We have a 68 Camaro with FlowMaster 40 mufflers and think it's a fantastic choice
4/5

The car is attempting to generate a great deal of heat in the cabin. I saw this kit and figured it couldn't hurt because it fits so well and does exactly what it says it will, the installation looks professional, and the materials appear to be of good quality. Although a lower price would have been preferable, I would still purchase them.

It's simple, but it's effective at reducing heat
5/5

It's a pain to install on an existing exhaust system, but it does the job. It has some sharp edges, so use caution and trim the corners if it's near anything vulnerable, such as brake or fuel lines.

The new exhaust system allows you to control the heating
5/5

I needed something to control the heat from a new exhaust system, and this worked out much better than I had hoped.

It can be shaped to fit a variety of muffler widths
5/5

This was bought to fit a muffler that was about an inch or so narrower. It was no problem for me to shape the heat shield to fit the smaller muffler, and it worked out well.
