The main component of this HOSE WIRE HEAT SHIELD is high-quality fiber glass. It is simple to set up. Simply pull the wires inside; AN hoses, cables, and other similar items can also be used.

Black Fiberglass Heat Shield Sleeving can withstand a continuous operating temperature of 600°F and an intermittent temperature of 1100°F.

Fiberglass Auto Hot Rod Sleeve Heat Shield prevents vapor lock, protects wires, AN hoses, and shields oil and brake lines.

Our heat shield sleeving has a unique weave that allows it to expand and contract around fittings, cables, and terminals, among other things.

Keep it away from the open fire if you don't want it to catch fire! It has the ability to reduce radiant heat by up to 60%.

Perhaps, but it would most likely dismantle it sooner. For that application, I would look into DEI's offerings.

Will this stretch to fit something just over 1" in diameter?

I slid it over a three-prong power outlet.

Is this going to work with 4awg jumper cable wires? Do you mean 4awg wires with dual insulation?

It's available in a variety of sizes. Choose the right size for the job. You'll also need to either cut the sleeve or run your cable through it. On my race car, I used it to shield my starter wire from the heat of the header and the gap in the firewall. So far, everything has gone well. At a reasonable price, it appears to work well.

It certainly ought to. It was easy to slip over the plug when I wrapped 1/2" wiring near a Kiln with it. If it doesn't bother you, I believe it's loose around the 1/2" hose.

So I saw this sleeve and it had a lot of positive feedback, so I decided to give it a try. Last week, I installed these and noticed that my truck was misfiring the day before yesterday. After looking through my heat wrap sleeves, I noticed that a couple of them were white; I went through them and found that the majority of them had no effect on the wire. This one, on the other hand, obliterated it completely.

It's not quite up to the name brand, but it'll do

Prior to this purchase, I had been using heat shield products tubing. When I needed another roll, however, I couldn't find any at a reasonable price. So, here it is: br>br>This product. br>br>I primarily use it to run electrical. br>Even good enough to prevent a short from catching fire or burning other items, such as a fiberglass car body or other flammable items near the run. br>It also works well as an all-around protection sleeve for me. br>br>On the other hand, this material frays. Heat shrink tubing is used to seal the ends of the name brand items. br>br>But none of that came with this. br>However, based on my previous experience, I prefer to use marine-grade materials that include a melt-and-stick glue. br>br>It also frays much worse than the name brand. br>When working with the frayed ends, some dusting comes off as well. br>I didn't notice that with the name brand. br>br>Overall, it's perfect for my light-duty needs. br>I'll keep ordering until the name brand is back in stock. br>And, as long as the price is significantly lower, I may use this material in the future for some projects.

I looked at a lot of products and this was the best! I needed some wire sheathing or sleeves to protect some wires in my engine compartment

I was new to this type of product and did a lot of research on nylon, PET, polyester, fiberglass, and other materials, but in the end, I chose this product and company/brand for a variety of reasons. The value for money was excellent. In comparison to other brands, this one didn't appear to be faded right out of the package. appeared to be darker and newer. And, when expanded to fit wires through, it didn't stay open weave like others, which exposes the wire and defeats the purpose, in my opinion. I did not put the stated heat claims to the test. Finally, when I contacted customer service, I found them to be very responsive. This last section may be crucial for many people, including myself.

My power cables were covered

I had to double up on my grounding and power cables because I had made some changes to my car. I was concerned that the heat would cause my extra cables to break down. I used this to cover them and secured them with a zip tie so they wouldn't move. These, I believe, will stand the test of time.

It's fine, but not what I had hoped for

Look, the material is fine, but I'm out of cash. It isn't the gleaming black, new-looking material that it is supposed to be. When stretched, it takes on an off white gray color that appears old and worn out, but it's brand new right out of the package. If you like this color, go ahead and purchase it. I recently purchased another Alex brand and it was fantastic.
