If the white fiber cloth starts to peel away. Yes.

Is it 36" or 12" in length?

For my Harley, I ordered the same one, which was 36 inches long.

Is it possible to use it for exhaust? Or does it serve to reflect heat by covering wires and hoses?

Hoses and wiring are covered with this material. It is not possible to duct exhaust gases through this system.

Would this be adequate protection for the fuel line and electrical wire running from my boat's outboard motor to the hole they enter?

It was of excellent quality and was used to protect wires that ran near headers. I'm not sure how well it would stand up to salt corrosion.

Definitely resistant to heat

In my turbo 300ZX, I bought this to protect some aftermarket wiring. The most convenient location at the time was near the turbo downpipes, and the wires became a little too hot over time, causing the sheathing to melt together. After my wiring repair, I came across this as a heat-resistant solution and installed it right away. br>br>I had it installed for a few years before I discovered a better location for the wires to be run. The wires and the high-temperature loom both appeared to be in perfect condition. I believe it would work well in almost any high-temperature automotive application.

It's perfect for shielding a heater hose from the heat of a radiant header. From top to bottom, cut it with scissors, then wrap it around the hose. The fit is excellent!.
