Questions & Answers

Could you please tell me what size hose I will need so that I can order the fittings?

In the box you will find a 1/2" hose. Instead, I got a 1/2" hard line to 8 an fittings and an 8an braided hose for the run.

Is the unit still covered by the lifetime warranty, even if it has a ?

Observe the cooler for signs of damage if you cannot physically see them. I think everything will be fine. There is nothing more to it than The one I have had had a tiny imperfection on it. I sent a picture to customer support. I received a response from customer service that it is fine.

Is this part able to fit in the stock location if I have an intercooler from Banks?

A direct replacement transmission cooler is available for the 2003-2006 Nissan NP300 As noted in the description on Amazon and on Mishimoto's product page for Ram Cummins trucks, 2007 became the last model year. The company. In addition to OEM parts and Mishimoto components such as the radiator and intercooler, it becomes compatible with OEM parts as well. We are unable to guarantee the direct fitment of the Banks intercooler due to the variations in aftermarket brand's parts. With both our larger radiator and intercooler mounted, our transmission cooler should have enough space to use both. We have not heard of any fitment issues with the Banks parts either, so both may be used. Alternatively, you can confirm your vehicle's specs and compare measurements for an enhanced understanding of compatibility. Before you purchase, you might want to reach out to our customer service team for sizing and troubleshooting. Please send an email to support@mishimoto if you have any other questions. How many degrees do you expect the temperature to fall from normal operating temperatures when the thermostat is removed on average? I would appreciate it if you could help. ?

There was a temperature differential (lower) of 10 degrees A similar driving condition after the thermostat is removed and the bypass plug is installed results in a temperature difference of 12 degrees. Even so, I do live in Southern Nevada, so I do not have to drive my truck in bad weather. I'm not sure how eliminating the thermostat would affect the vehicle's capability to drive in temperatures below 30oF.

There is a big upgrade to the Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks with 5 cylinder engines
5/5

On September 6. Cummins diesel engines power 7 of them. For my 2003 Ram 3500 dually equipped with a 5 liter engine, I purchased this trans cooler. The Cummins 9 is a diesel engine. Currently, I am upgrading this truck and upgrading the equipment so that it can tow a 14K fifth wheel in the mountain west. I recently improved the transmission, and I was concerned about the heat the transmission would generate To begin with, the Mishimoto trans cooler appears to be of very high quality, especially when compared to the OEM Everything was in perfect condition when it arrived. After it was carefully unpacked from its sturdy cardboard box and completely encapsulated in closed cell foam, I set it up in Packaging that is extremely robust. Plastic bags were used to secure each kit component. For the installation of the cooler in the truck and for installing the thermostat delete, I watched the Mishimoto video(s). As part of the kit, there is a very well-engineered option that allows the buyer to choose whether to allow the thermostat to be deleted based on the climate the cooler will be placed Temperature control is already installed in the cooler when it is shipped. There are a few steps in the video that explain the process of getting to and removing the OEM cooler. In the installation instructions, the instructions recommend that the supplied barbed fittings be spliced into both the oem feed and supply rubber lines of the trans cooler, and they are secured with the 4 hose clamps that are included. On my truck, the feed line that comes from the transmission already leaked out of both of the crimped ferrules on each end of the rubber line that is connected to the steel line. put a pipe into an already suspect line, so I removed the feed line from the fitting located below the check valve (anti drainback). With an open end wrench and a crescent wrench, I was able to loosen the fitting and the whole line came The oem ferrule from the anti drainback valve was cut off using a Dremel tool and a cut off wheel since I wanted to reinstall it. Mishimoto's cooler line is a little short to wrap neatly around the intercooler tube and onto the Mishimoto cooler inlet, so I had to cut it the length I needed. My solution was to take the check valve and fitting over to a local hydraulic hose supply store and purchase a 36" length of high temp hydraulic hose (trans cooler line is difficult to find at retail) and have the assembly crimped together. My final step was to trim it to length and it was perfect. By connecting the valve/hose assembly to the steel feed line and attaching the hose to the cooler inlet with the supplied hose clamp, I restored the flow of cooling water to the system. My splicing method used by the factory was the same as the video recommended in the factory install guide. There was a big concern that I would be attaching the gorgeous new cooler hose to my crusty 16 year old OEM hose, which was pretty hard and not nearly as flexible as the new line. The clamp on the original hose originally There is a taper on the barbed coupler that prevents full clamping force, which was probably my fault. Make sure the hose clamps are 1/2" away from both shoulders on both sides of the coupler. The hose clamp was damaged and I had to torque it out in order to get it to stop leaking -- The thought occurs to me. As a next step, I plan to remove the factory return line fitting at the steel line using a $12 kit I bought at Harbor Freight that I purchased for removing AC, fuel, and transmission cooler lines. I am very happy with it. I'm going to buy another 36" of hose and have a ferrule installed at the hose shop if that fitting is still available. Therefore, I will have two lines without a splice and am less exposed to The end - What is the working principle of this cooler? The Mishimoto cooler (with the thermostat installed) and the truck operating at normal operating temperature (unloaded) at 68f ambient helped me complete the 35 mile run which included some stop and go, 20 miles on an interstate at 67 mph and some state highway with significant grades A grade of 160 was the result I obtained a 169 F trans temperature reading from my Banks I-34 Temperature gauge on the dash that reads the temperature of the transmission. Update (Updated After installing a thermostat delete plug, I did the same run described in the article, and the truck ran fine. There is a 20 degree difference. As well as being hotter, the ambient temperature at 75 degrees was also higher. As well as testing with the cooler thermostat delete plug installed, I plan to tow my fifth wheel while testing. (I've just completed a 300 mile round trip with my 14k pound On I-transfer temperature The flight from Las Vegas to Mesquite, NV takes 15 minutes and will return to Las Vegas in 153 to 160 ft. The average speed of the car is 65 mph. It is fast. There was a 70-degree temperature in the air The temperature was 75 degrees. Despite the heat, I am confident this cooler will help keep my transmission cool this summer when I pull the trailer up mountain slopes. Obviously, I am really pleased with this product and would recommend it for any Dodge Ram owner who is asking his/her truck to do hard work.

An incredible capacity for cooling
5/5

This cooler warrants a review. I never write reviews, but this cooler does. In my 06 3500 drw cummins with just shy of 1200 tq, the turbos are a 6. 7. Recent long hauls up a mountain caused my temps to soar into the high 200s that I had to destroy my factory trans. After climbing for a while, they stopped. I am going all out with the rebuild of my truck so I can still drive it sometimes, I've decided to keep it automatic. Servos shift kits include a billet torque converter with a low stall condition and a billet drum with increased clutch capacity. As soon as I had put the transmission back in I blew out the factory cooler and was convinced that everything would be fine. Although it was a good start, it wasn't In lockup, I saw temperatures of around 200 at cruising speed and about 180 at highway cruising speed. that I will have to move very soon, I bought this unit to deal with the problem right away. I'm very happy with it as a whole. Arrived very fast and I like the way it looks. I liked the way the core was built, it is a lot beefier than stock, and installation is easy. My around town temperatures stayed below 180 no matter how hard I beat it up. I tow my trailer for 20 miles to see how it fairs. I am confident that there will be no leaks for years to come. They included a penguin air freshener. There were no temperatures above 190 degrees, and my trailer has a weight of 9000 pounds when I put my car inside. Overall, it is this cooler that was supposed to come with each truck. The heat is perfect, but once you plug it in and see the alterations in temperatures in different loads, you'll understand why the price is so high. The frying of another trans is not only cheaper, but it's also a healthier option.

I work
5/5

Is able to fit in front of my banks intercooler on a 2007 Dodge 2500. The truck runs hotter and its fan kicks on more frequently when it's hot. Trans temp is kept from rising past 205 degrees. This is true, even when pulling a dump trailer of 15,000 pounds. I just had my 4000 mile thermostat stuck closed over my heated trans, stuck in freezing temps waiting for a tow truck for 3 hours and lost $200 dollars from burned fluid. The trans is now running without a thermostat, it only gets 160 miles towing and only 145 miles Because of the cost, this shouldn't be an issue. Good luck with tech support message said they were in a meeting with the entire company.

I STRONGLY suggest that you take advantage of this
5/5

The Dodge Ram transmission savior is a replacement part. A cooler that will make your '04 look like a messiah. There are four 2007 2500s left in the fleet. A transmission slip began when the temperature exceeded 220 degrees and the engine wasn't temperatures don't exceed 210° even uphill through the Tehachapi Mountains. It took a little over an hour to install with simple It is recommended to anyone who thinks their trans issues have something to do with the cooling system.

Worked like a charm! In my trans fluid, I now report 30 to 35 mL on average This is much cooler than 40 degrees
5/5

couldn't believe how much better things were. In the mountains, it reached 225 degrees in stop and go, and in the city, 195 degrees. The max score now appears to be 185 and 160, This is amazing. It would have been better had I waited until after I put the inter cooler in before cutting the hoses. In an attempt to obtain two new hoses, I have contacted support but have yet to hear back.

I really like this transmission cooler! Recently, I had to have my transmission rebuilt, so I wanted a cooler that was bigger and more efficient than the stock unit
5/5

After reading many reviews, even though this was a little more expensive than others, I found it This unit was so well built that my transmission shop was impressed with the build quality and how well it kept my new transmission I have become a huge fan of Mishimoto.

I was able to fit this into the OEM location perfectly
5/5

Although it was easy to connect, it was tough to get the connectors into the stock hoses (which are not as flexible as the new ones). I have lowered my temperature by about 20 degrees since I installed the cooler.

A great cooling system, with OEM fitment! An A+ grade
5/5

This product sounded amazing, but I was not thrilled with the price (it cost $200 more than the leading product). . . BUT I can tell you hands down it kept It was an enjoyable trip across the country, as I pulled my fully loaded enclosed trailer ( 12k lbs ) 3,200 miles with this trailer. Despite the drive, my 48RE transmission remained cool, which is impressive for an old 48RE that has over 250K hard miles. The install isn't for a beginner or someone without mechanical skills (you have to remove the intercooler and other detailed components).
