It took me two attempts to get the clamps to hold on to the hoses they were too light. It came flying tech told me to look for PDF on the company website. I went to the 05 LLY site, and the directions explained what was wrong with a 2003 Duramax. There is not a plug and play solution as Mishimoto said, I had to relocate the transmission temperature sensor. There is no way for me to tell whether the temperature of the transmission has improved. I will have to pull a load first. I am seriously concerned about the transmission There is no size that fits all when it comes to the cooler. The transmission stays cooler for at least two weeks after driving for this amount of time. It will be interesting to see how it performs in the summer when you pull.
My 2003 GMC Sierra DMax has this kit, which is advertised as a direct replacement for the OEM cooler Mishimoto offers two different kits for 2003 GMC Sierra DMax's. Mishimoto advised me to order their cooler assembly, and after relocating the ambient air sensor, it bolts in just fine. Nevertheless, the connectors provided with the cooler to facilitate connecting the OEM lines to the new coolers are incorrect. I called Mishimoto again, and they advised me that I needed the other cooler As a result, I returned the first one and ordered the second. drew the truck apart for the second time, and again I found connectors that were wrong. I shipped it back to Amazon you'd think for the price of their products, they would get it right. I am.
It reduces the transmission temperature by almost 100 degrees with the Mishimoto transmission cooler. Even when towing uphill, the transmission temp still rises, but remains under 200 degrees, whereas it would reach nearly 300 degrees before. This is a great transmission cooler from Mishimoto. Everything you need to install it is included, including the hardware and hoses. As well as looking cool, it also works pretty well.
I like this product. It is much cooler than what I expected.
A pretty generic video covers multiple models and provides only moderate support. The product works well, but the installation video is extremely It is fortunately possible to find other You Tube videos that provide the information you need, but after paying north of $350, you would think Mishimoto could make an educational, complete video for my truck instead of a mediocre video that doesn't get much done.
I have not towed it, but it works well just to drive around town. It's easy to install and only takes a few minutes.
The cooler fits perfectly in a duramax, easy to install and will take less than an hour to install. It is almost 3 times the size of the stock cooler, but well worth it for the price.
You did a great job! It's awesome that it's packaged! Exactly what I was looking for! It is easy to install any new lines after old lines have been removed by applying heat to them if they are stuck.
